“Petite, are you seriously going to work right now? You just…” She looked out the door towards Kyle before she started whispering. “You just got out of a three-day coma!”
“All the better for me to get out of the house, Des.” I grabbed my backpack and stuffed my new white pouch-belt, mini jacket, and mask in it. Then I grabbed my cell phone and put it in the most accessible pocket of my bag before putting on my combat boots. “Besides, if you-know-who doesn’t plan on killing me, then what’s the worst that can happen?”
I stared down at the pebbles I was sitting on. “A little.” I confessed. “I’ve never actually called a vision to me. I’m not really sure what will happen, assuming anything occurs at all.”
I didn’t see his face, but Aryan’s tone was very reassuring despite sounding reluctant. “Fine. Do your thing. I’ll be here.”
