I couldn’t help but crack up at Petite’s thought process. “Non. Just… couldn’t sleep.”
He squinted at me as he approached slowly. “Yes.” He hissed harshly. “I saw that human-curse machine. I don’t care who she looks like, Kai. She killed Nolan, and I will avenge him. You can either help me or get out of my way. But be warned, I won’t allow you to help her any further.”
“And how exactly are you to avenge Nolan?” I inquired, making sure my face did not express anything beyond curiosity. “Let’s be honest here. If she took down Nolan, who has never lost at anything in his entire existence, what makes you think you have a chance?”
