I've seen various threads for posting comics based on sub count and the like, but I wanted to try a different tack. I want to see the comics with trans characters. I'm most drawn to such comics. And superheroes, so if your comic has trans superheroes, even better to me, but this thread is for all comics with trans characters. Non-binary characters also welcome.

Anyways, to begin with, mine is the Almighty Protectors17, with the characters of Mariana (aka Flame Thrower) and Michael (aka Mineral) are a trans woman and trans man, respectively. I also have a non-binary character (Pinball), but being a sexless being means the character being agender isn't really representation in that regard.

But I will say that Black Wraith7 and Defenders of America4 both have the non-binary Black Wraith (agender with she/her pronouns) and Poltergeist(demi-girl). However, since this hasn't been revealed on the page, and they've been treated as women by others, I can see this as not-really-representation, either. But I don't plan to keep it purely hypertextual. It just needs to be introduced in a way that doesn't seem clunky (and I need to find someone to collaborate with to help me with those comics).

Sorry, I ramble. I'd love to see others' comics in this vein. Link your comics below, and mention who your trans/non-binary characters in it are.

I don't know if my comic could get this kind of label or not, but here it is:

I created my character based on how they're, and I don't really care much about the gender labels.

Hannah so far is the only one confirmed in the dialog (male to female), but she is not the only trans or non-binary character (not sure if anyone on the forums is actively reading my comic or not so I will not say who the others are for now, not until the information has been officially released and all that)

^^ some of my faves with trans / nb leading characters

theres also my comic - my MC is nonbinary and from a non-binary culture, though its not very clearly stated

Here are a few comics that fit the bill.

Some of these are a bit more subtle than others, a couple of them I wouldn't have even known had trans characters if I hadn't been following the creators on their social media. (Or I'm just really slow. Lol) They're all awesome comics, though!
I also second checking out @punkarsenic's comic!

I myself work on a comic with some trans characters. My MC is (a heavily closeted) non-binary, and one of my side characters is a transwoman. I will have to put up a warning, my comic is 17+ for nudity, profanity and substance abuse. It also contains sensitive subjects such as mental illness, suicide, abuse and transphobia. So read it at your own discretion.

wait, full spectrum therapy has trans / nb characters?? what am i missing?

I wish I could, but it'd be a massive spoiler since he is still closeted in the story u.u

If you like novels, all of them have trans protagonists  :

Pff I read it on the author's Twitter... or at least I thought I did, now I'm not sure if my memory mixed up tweets with usernames. I'll go back into Alan's social media to see if I mixed anything up, in the meantime I'll take that comic down. Don't want to spread any misinformation. <_<'

Novel, not comic, but the protagonist of my story is trans (MTF). Her gender is not entirely hypertextual, but at the same time it's never directly discussed. She is explicitly mentioned as taking hormones at one point, and there are a number of things she does (such as being very particular that her friend cuts her hair rather than anyone else) because she is trans. I originally had her gender play a much larger part in the story, but at the moment the most direct appearance is in a soon-to-be published flashback, where she is shown briefly dealing with dysphoria and social rejection.

It's really strange, but one of the secondary characters deals a lot more with gender and trans issues than my protagonist. Nimue is a shapeshifting succubus who hates her default/natural form. She dislikes it to the point of attempting to maintain her shape even when sleeping, and only takes it when absolutely necessary. She is apparently comfortable appearing in either male or female form, so long as she is not displaying her default nature. I can't talk much about this since it's several dozen chapters down the line and involves major spoilers, but a number of characters either intentionally or unintentionally do to her what amounts to deadnaming by referring to her as her demonic name, and she has an intensely negative relationship with her family. She even struggles with the fact that being a succubus leads to her being alternately hated and fetishized. I didn't intend to write Nimue this way, it just sort of happened. It's like my brain subconsciously wanted to tackle these topics but didn't know how.

Flipside has a trans supporting character ^^

and so does ISASAY

This comics seems promising (despite sometimes maybe a bit too angsty?) and deserves more subs. I'd like to see continuation of it, but it is drawn slowly.
At the beginning I was a bit puzzled cause I didn't understand if MC is a boy or a girl, or author doesn't specify their gender at purpose, cause it is not important for the story. But then in one of the comments author have explained, that MC "haven't really figured their identity yet". So I suppose that MC can be considered as not-binary character?

Also queer character plays important role in this comics. Btw it is drawn very well and is seems to have its own style and setting.

In this one there is a guy who dresses like a girl (but well, actually he has very few of dress on him ) and works in strip club, as far as I understand. This comics has beautiful art, but no words, so it is hard to make any statements about characters for sure, but I suppose it can counts:

the main character of my comic is a trans man!

and iirc all the creator characters in engelbaum are nonbinary

26 days later

Sheep is non binari, she just doesent talks too much about it and she is heavily female looking:

Soledad, the protagonist is a transgender and disabled space traveler:

14 days later

Well, all the characters in this one are agender "weather gods".

Oh, and the protag's love interest in FWD is an intersex and somewhat genderfluid man.

here's my comic - Sacred Geometry. Several of the characters in the series are transgender or non-binary, with the main character being part of a race called the Rusalka, a kind of merperson, able to change their appearance when close to the surface of the water.

Engel, a Rusalka, is looking to leave the strict rules of his shoal, and find a home elsewhere, among the tides and forests of a mysterious, magical land.

the comic contains a whole bunch of LGBT characters, and also has frequent nudity due to the nature of the character's race.
