I'll do both, an image and a paragraph:

Daecon was finding himself more an more comfortable with the idea of being King. The night of Dion's death he had still been wary of the prospect. Truthfully, only his sudden love for Evander and his affection for his new friends had kept him from sneaking away that night after the party, once everyone had gone home (not to mention that, being dead among the humans, he had nowhere else to go anyway) . In the following days he found himself glad that he had stayed. As was promised, most of the regular workings of the colony were taken care of by the Council. This was a very good thing, because even though he quickly learned everybody's names, he still had no idea how this society worked. The citizens were a simple, homey people, but fully embraced modern technology and were well aware of what was going on in the world around them. Crime was virtually nonexistent among them, which explained why the prison cells were empty until Darion had come to town and filled them.
