Post the changes of your stories icon

I came up with this topic as I worked on my series new icon.

As we improve our artskill and storytelling, the icon naturally needs some adjustments aswell. So how has your Icon changed since the beginning and what were you thoughts about them? Post it's evolution here! And don't forget to add the link to your comic / novel ^^

So here are my past icons:
This was the first icon. I didn't put much thought in creating it. Basicly it was just the croped version of the old titlepage.
After a while I realised, first impression is very important and the old one didn't fullfill that purpose. Here I had my two main charas in it. I was never really happy with it though.
This one was more a filler because I didn't like the old one anymore and I accidenltaly made a nice face. So I put that in.
And this is the current one. I didn't change much about the pose from the previous one and keept it clean and simple. I especially wanted to keep that contrast with the blue background and her red hair. The chara looks a bit older than I planed though...

Oldest to newest

The second one is blurry because I lost the original high-res file. </3
The only one that was specifically designed as an icon was the first one. The others are just crops of illustrations.

I'm thinking of changing it up again pretty soon.

I've only had 2 icons so far, but I'm thinking it's about time to make a new one! Especially after looking through these really neat icons you all have made

I have had a lot of cover reboots. These are them all from oldest to newest. From improved/changed art styles to character redesigns.

This was my first cover, from back in 2015. The comic story, style, and quality was way different then.

This cover was also from 2015, and I was trying to incorporate foreshortening to make the image more interesting, but I failed horribly, lmfao

From 2015, I think this was my best cover from that version. Even now, I like this piece.

In my 2016, reboot, after a lot of plot changes and a year of learning how to draw, I came back with this as my cover. I still like the shading and detail, but it's too stiff for my tastes.

I wanted to show these two important characters on the cover, but didn't want to create a new artwork, so I used some of my older drawings.

Pretty much the same thing here: I just used different images.

This has been my cover for the longest. In 2017, I realized I didn't have a cover I was comfortable with, so I created this one, to match the style of the pages better. It was extremely rushed, but somehow ended up pretty good. Honestly, most of my followers are probably most familiar with this icon.

After several years, I decided to completely revamp the style, which included changing the name from Callous to Whispers of the Past. This is the result. The entire comic is now in this more painterly style as well.

I literally finished drawing a new series icon today, I haven't put it yet though. The first icon was from when I first started the comic back in like 2015 and I haven't changed it since so I thought it would be cool to redraw it for a new banner and series icon.

I'll be switching to the newer one soon but my comic has had the older one for like 3 years and it feels so weird to switch now.
