This is from a chapter that won't be published for like 10 weeks due to a large buffer, and is quite a departure from the tone and setting of the majority of my novel, which is mostly modern mythology, told with humorous narration. This chapter is a flashback to an immortal character's former life in Constantinople circa 532 AD.
"Agapiti" means dearest or beloved (at least according to a forum I read about terms of endearment in ancient Greek).
