Here is where we celebrate the off-beat and bizarre. To hell with mass appeal!

I'll kick it off with one of my own--The Power of Stardust. It's a superhero comic featuring reimagined public domain characters taking on the most infamous public domain superhero of all time--the very weird Stardust the Super Wizard!

I'll be posting a collaboration one of my friends organized - One Comic a Week. It's unfortunately in portuguese, but a lot of comics have no dialogue and everyone had the limitation of being 3 pages and a cover only to tell a story. Might be interesting to look at!

I love your comic Stardust!

I also like Gravehill, which is a Western/horror/fantasy mash-up. Very dark, with occult and religious themes. The art is amazing, but it is rated Mature for a reason. Not for the faint of heart.

Another one of my favorites is Zombie Wife. It contains horror elements, but is very focused on the emotional impact of a loved one being turned into a zombie. The author manages to balance the bittersweet/melancholy with the comedic very well.

And last but not least, The Concord Initiative. The art is intense and manages to convey a claustrophobic/bizarre world very well. There's some intense world building, a lot of politics, and complex characters/relationships. It's kind of like dark fantasy and alternate history collided. There are themes of mental health/mental stress and emotional manipulation as well. It's very hard for me to describe, but it I really enjoy reading it.

I’m just trying to spread the Cyberpunk genre. It’s small already but I went an extra mile and did a suspense type of story with it too.

Hmmmmm... Interesting question.

Super strong premise that you don't see all over the genre landscape makes it unique enough to be "niche" but it's very accessible to the larger reader base, so not "niche".

I just started a new one actually! It has a Bee-man as the main character. It's in B&W and is my attempt at an entry into the world of bizarre and dry humor.

Unlike my other series, this one is not a fighting adventure. I hesitate to call it a "Slice of life" but it simply follows the main as he goes through his day to day routine.

I wouldn't normally consider my comic "weird" but... okay actually it's really hard to categorise.

tl;dr: Sequel to the legends of Arthur about young adult women who have super magic powers and fight giant demons in a world that undervalues women. Also, surprise! It's gay.

In summary: It's sort of a shounen action manga or a superhero book... but rather than being about teenage boys, it's about mostly adult women having feelings and relationships and coming to terms with sexuality and dealing with how the establishment views women and other marginalised groups... but they also have swords and fight monsters. The setting is modern, but it's an alternate reality where due to the existence of magic and the sword Excalibur being totes real, the Anglo-Saxons got pushed back out of Britain, leaving it as a Romano-Celtic nation.

Is it Fantasy? Is it Action? Is it Drama!? Is the name "Errant" actually a META-COMMENTARY on this exact thing!? Post-modern!? Heck no, we're going META-MODERN and wrapping up all this pretentious English Lit degree stuff in the fluffy, colourful shell of a comic about kicking monsters in the face.

For other stuff that doesn't fit anywhere, my BFF Anna's comic is like... err... a....slice of life...post-apocalyptic...girl's love...about aliens?

@OttoGruenwald I cannot claim credit for any writing or art in the comics I recommended haha. The Concord Initiative is all Gus's work. I am just a fan, hoping that he unlocks support for inksgiving so I can throw ink his way...
