hey! in twaw the fomor have a non binary gender system, and both balor and cath are trans / nonbinary / its complicated

hiiii forums it has been a while.

i have a major trans character. he makes his first appearance in chapter 4 with a bit of impromptu vampire hunting

i have a major nonbinary character too who will debut in the next chapter :ok_hand::ok_hand: also let the record stand i am a trans creator myself. they are my dearly beloveds

the main character of my comic blaise is a trans guy ! and i've also been told cog counts as a trans girl. the hunter robots also all use they pronouns

My comic is long-form/ongoing. It's mainly a mystery, involving a creepy town, unusual occurrences, and protagonists that have 0 experience with mystery solving. They try their best. :^D
One of the main protagonists, Noel, is a trans girl.

I've been working on this Boy Love comic which features Ryan, who identifies as FTM, and is in a decadent relationship with one of his students.

It's quite a new thing for me, and I'm quite enjoying it.

I'm also working on my a novel that features two non-binary characters, Mika and Reggie:

I'm hoping if I manage to finish it, it will be a part of this year's Writer's Camp!

:3

Well, my comic isn't really about queer stuff, and my character's gender doesn't come up for a really long time in the story. But my main character, Julian, is a fem non-binary. They're just presenting as masculine-ish right now for reasons.
Although I have to warn you my comic is NSFW and contains darker themes.

Off the top of my head I'd also recommend a couple comics, both of which feature trans characters.

Both of these are awesome story driven works, sporting lovely visuals!

One of my characters is a trans man but I have yet to figure out how to smoothly integrate that into the story as its not actually about being transgender. I don't want to never mention it because that is a cop out but as of yet it hasn't happened because its not a story about gender.

Main character's demon has no real defined gender since it has no actual solid form and a fighter whose introduced in chapter 4 named Smokestack is genderless/sexless who will have more involvement later on.

Here's my comic with a trans boy and a non-binary kid as the mains! (this hasn't become known by the audience yet, but it will in a bit.)

Hi, I have two series posted on Tapas, both have at least one NB/Gender Diverse character.

There's Adventures Of The Disparate Crew, which is a series of short stories about a group of teenagers, one of the prominent characters, Kelly, identifies as genderqueer and uses "They" pronouns.

Also, my other series is called A Classical Guitar Dream, one of the main character's best friends is called Hayden, but goes as Halley sometimes. Hayden is genderfluid, and his/her gender changes throughout the series.

I haven't really gotten to the point where Gwyn's gender is thoroughly discussed, but soon I will.
And Thomas is demisexual.

My kinda thread! Yo im a non-binary writer myself and i usually write characters that are either guys, guys that crossdress (not a gender but I write them), and non-binary pals!

It's not really at that point yet in the story but my character, Willow, likes to crossdress, though he doesn't really call it that, and neither do I honestly. He sees it as clothes he likes and that's about it, ain't it?

Hmm I suppose it depends on your definition whether or not Dumah will fit. While not necessarily intentional, I think Dumah as a character could be interpreted as trans/non-binary in a metaphorical sense. She's a golem created as a bodyguard, and since they are not made to have any emotions or feelings, they are not created with any concept of identity whatsoever. Dumah has emotions however and over time presents herself as female and seeks more stereotypical feminine clothing, wigs, physique, etc. to make her feel more comfortable.
It's a bit of a running joke (or will be once we get to that point) that Dumah is actually a male name that her creator gave her.

So while not 100% fitting the mold of what you might be looking for, I think she could have some enjoyable development those who are trans may possibly connect with.

Running joke. Huh. I mean most trans people I know wouldn't exactly think being given a gendered name they don't relate with to be funny but aight.

You've got an interesting character here though!

I had a feeling someone would take that and misunderstand it the second I posted it haha. I simply mean it's something that is brought up on a few instances, and again she's not meant to be trans, merely that I can see her story being somewhat analogous. Not that it'll be the same thing.

It's not really a misunderstanding. It's how you presented her and the exact sentence you wrote out. How her name being masculine when she's a girl is a kind of running joke. I'm saying if you are trying to appeal to readers looking for that kind of rep, might want to avoid that. I mean that's the implication I'm getting since you shared it on a thread asking specifically for these kinda characters.

And if she has no actual given gender but generally feels female, then yeah by definition some might say she's trans, but, and just saying here, if she's "not meant to be trans" then why exactly would you post it on this thread? I mean it's kinda like saying a character is gay on your Twitter or whatever when it's never even touched up on it or even mentioned at all in the story.

The misunderstanding was my fault as I used the wrong verbiage. For that I'll apologize. Running joke isn't quite accurate as "running theme" or "something that comes up a couple times" but those didn't roll of the tongue quite as well as running joke even if the joke implication wasn't what I was going for.

As for not being trans and yet being on here, I stated from the beginning that the character might possibly have a connection to those who are trans due purely in a metaphorical sense and that while it wasn't my intention to do so, it may be what the original author would be interested in.

If you're still interested, one of the protagonists from my Writers Camp entry is trans!
