Found out that a few people have been redrawing an old Moebius drawing again. That looked fun, so I wanted to try it too. I don’t like how it turned out, but at least I did something.
Moebius himself said that he based it on an old Maxfield Parrish painting of a pretty girl on a rock by the sea. And Moebius her as a monster as a joke. The idea was that the girl could really be a monster, and in his drawing we get to see what she maybe really is like. And she screams and cries because she is alone and knows she is a monster. For some reason I started feeling bad for her.
One of my other alltime heroes is H.R. Giger. He showed us that the monstrous could be beautiful, seductive and peaceful. So I wanted to make her feel prettier again. Don’t know if it works or not, but this is what I managed to do.
