Hello!
My name is Jack, and I'm relatively new to these forums. I've been floating around for the past few days and have been really impressed with the positive and supportive community I have observed.
With that in mind, I would like to introduce to you my webcomic diary Birdwrong! Originally started in 2012 and running until 2016, I wrote Birdwrong according to a strict daily update schedule. I stuck to the daily-update rule for around 3 years before resorting to a more relaxed schedule due to significant changes in life. Thanks to my original schedule though, the backlog of Birdwrong quickly became really quite intimidating and daunting to new readers.
As such, I wanted to go back and pick out the best comics, redraw them (the early posts were MESSY.), and present them to a new audience as a hopefully more enjoyable and more focused experience. This brings us to Tapastic, and the current posts I have uploaded and queued.
While redrawn to look consistent with the visual style and character designs Birdwrong eventually settled with, the comic still retains its minimalist style. This style was a necessity for me considering the daily schedule and my own time restraints - but eventually became something I was quite fond of and became part of Birdwrong's identity. I'm hoping to retain this charm, but also strike a balance between it and providing more polish.
Since the comics are already written, I can't really change much in that respect aside from alter the wording of things to allow smoother delivery, etc. However - in terms of art style, upload schedule (which is still daily), appeal to new audiences and so on - do you guys have any ideas, advice or criticism?
I really would appreciate any words of wisdom from yourselves!!
Of course - if you have your own webcomic, please let me know! I would love to see, and would be more than happy to return the favour.
Thanks for your time
