Promote and question? Do you write ahead and how far?

I don´t want to promote anything but after being a chaos comic artist all my life I´m
trying to script my next comic project. It will be a printed comic with 10 short episode
and this time I want the stories to make sense and to be less chaotic

Honestly, I'm probably the worst kind of writer, haha. I write when I feel like it, and when I do, I post everything all at once. Sometimes, I’ll drop 3 or 4 episodes back to back because that’s just what I’ve written in one go! It’s chaotic, but it’s my process. XD

But hey, at least it keeps things interesting, right?

Question: "Do you write ahead and how far?"

Answer: Yes and no.

                Yes: to major plot points and events have been planned multiple years in advance. Compositions for events are designed sometimes years before or during the make of the next chapter. Storyboarding occurs right before the next chapter.

             No: Sometimes things that occur in the comic is written subconsciously or the panel of. Sometimes I would include new things on the fly because I find it more interesting or I'm running out of pages for the chapter standard I set.

With Fourthly Puzzled, I written tons of episodes, so far, I made around 44 episodes (excluding the Puzzled Pieces,) and I have around another over 30 ideas with a few left still in a work in progress, but I'm almost done with writing the episodes, and quite a few are in more than two parts. Some though are scrapped due to being too long or being out of context with the plot of the series.

With Human Yet Hybrid, I write them in order of course, so far, I made 12 with the 13th episode in a work in progress. These can take me months to finish, when it comes to writing them, I've already finished the entire first season, but it's gonna be a long one, of course I gave myself quite a head start, and finished writing the second season and the work in progress in the third season.

I have up to 7 chapters written and two chapter thumbnailed among them. Otherwise I try to keep 10 pages upfront to not feel overwhelmed or if I feel sick or something.

For my current story, I have it pretty much completely written. I just take what I have and try to edit it to where I’m comfortable with posting. This makes updating much easier in my opinion….

For me, I try to write 3 to 4 updates ahead! This allows me to polish the story and try to catch any mistakes or inconsistencies. It can also give me a idea how were my story is going and if I like where it's going. If there is something I need to clarify or change I usually do it during this stage. Writing ahead also helps me articulate what I want to illustrate. For updates further than that I use sticky notes to plan out the main events or ideas for that update so I know why a episode/ update applies to the plot.

That is what I like to do 6 weeks to preferred 1 month but hear lately I am hugging a bit of writers block. I have my Chapter ideas and rough drafts its just aa matter of getting there now lol!
