Hey Tapas-Gang! While BERRY BONES is on a BERRY BREAK for the holidays - our next story starts JANUARY 5th! - I thought it'd be a good opportunity to go back and highlight some of what's been posted this year. We had 18 complete stories amounting to over 100 comics since April!
If you're new, BERRY BONES follows 5 monster teens in a little woodland community on a planet called Oakea. It's part of a much larger world we're building, but the stories themselves are often intimate and very, very relatable!

As always, I suppose you should start with...
An Introduction: This is where we meet Ro, Moss, Polly, Herbie, and Harvest for the first time!
This one ends with an ominous shot of Harvest running towards a giant, retro-sci-fi looking gun, which is a little wink and a nod to the folks who read my last webcomic PUB (not currently available online!). It's a good tease to some future events, and that's all I'm going to say about that!!

From there we moved on to...
Berry Scouts: While delivering supplies to a local outpost, Berry Scout Moss has a crisis of confidence.
Berry Scouts saw the introduction of more characters like the authority figure Captain Pebb, as well as the shifty and mischievous demons! They'll play a larger role in future stories! (As well as the weaponry the little squirts are carrying!)

After that we caught wind of...
Cake News: After discovering the girls have cake, the boys go on a very urgent fact-finding mission!
This one was one of our more 'controversial stories', because it features some, err, intimate moments, as well as some questionable hot-takes from a dopey young teen who thinks he's a wiseguy. It's also our first look at the mysterious mountain alien who turns out to be a pretty chill dude in The Chorg. (He's also pretty darn important to the series' future!)

And finally, we'll round out this first batch with Lost in the Woods: Polly finds herself lost in the woods. Will she lose herself, too?
This one is a not so subtle allegory about getting lost in your own head. It's one of my personal favorites, especially Panel 1 in Part 6.

We'll be back over the next few weeks to highlight and chat about some more stories. I'd love to hear YOUR THOUGHTS about the comic so far! Your favorite character, or story, or joke, maybe even where you think the story is going next! Leave 'em anywhere, my main page, under a specific comic - you can even reach me at HMComillo@gmail.com!
Just let me know if I can share your thoughts with the class, and I'll make sure to shout you out!
Until next time
