Cozmata is a young, excited, and sometimes reckless girl. She was adopted by Nimbus Cumulus and Keen, becoming their daughter. She grew up sharing days between exploring the endless ruins of the Cemetery of spaceships north with her mother Keen and running their shop at the Hub, the Cloud's Den, with her other mom Nimbus. She cares deeply about her family and friends, and has an immense fascination with the universe, dreaming of exploring the stars one day. Frequently, she goes up to the observatory in the abandoned expeditionary tank her family lives in and looks at the stars for hours on end.
I think what I like about her is how bubbly, and honestly kind of dumb she is. It's adorable. She can get others and herself in trouble with her rushed decisions, but she always tries to make up for it. Although it took her a while to learn how to apologize and admit when she is wrong, she ultimately always tries to make it up for everyone that suffers from her decisions.
Nimbus is a cloud from the Cloud Theocracy living in Juuna. She is Cozmata's mom and Keen's wife, and the owner of the Cloud's Den at the Hub. She is a compassionate mother and a loving wife, happy with her life if not somewhat troubled by her past as the greatest pirate of the Delta sector. She is a little short tempered, but ultimately does anything for her daughter and wife (even if it is a bad idea). Although being a mother for 13 years now, she is still learning and had to reevaluate how she saw her daughter after a major crisis within the family that led to her being over-protective.
I think what I like most about Nimbus is how much she resembles my mom. Short tempered, but full of love to give, and always willing to put her family above everything. I always wanted to depict a protagonist and her relationship with her mothers, and I think I did so fairly well so far.
Keen is a human with mutism living in Juuna. She works as a scavenger in the ruins to supply the Cloud's Den, and is the mother to Cozmata and wife to Nimbus. She has lived in Juuna longer than both, and knows the planet fairly well. She is a patient and instructive mother, always acting as a diffuser for Nimbus when things get out of hand, and being sometimes heard as the voice of reason (although not always carrying that reason). She communicates via galactic sign language and can be quite the chatterbox.
I think I like Keen so much because I always wanted to include a disabled character in one of my stories. After spending a couple years with a friend that was passionate about ASL, I think Keen reminds me of them. The gimmick of her face never being shown is also a neat little thing, because it makes the readers curious and slightly more invested. I haven't been able to spend much time with her, but I'm planning some nice episodes to expand on her character.
Well, these are the main characters!! Feel free to check out the comic.
