When someone Time Travels to the future, you'd expect a grand exploration of the time period, visiting different peoples, cooperating with different governments, finding various groups of Time Travelers and hanging out with them, and learning about the new technology and bringing it back home. The only conflict in such a story would be to find a way home, right?
Well, that is the MC's end goal in my series. However, what if that world had no oxygen and is increasingly distrustful of Time Travelers? So much so that Time Travelers are either put into Level Three and tortured lifelong, or are left to die the minute they arrive, due to lack of oxygen. As for those Time Travel groups that should be the MC's comrades? Let's just say, most of them have done psychotic things to the Future.
The MC would've faced an oxygenless end, if it wasn't for a certain bystander. It doesn't help that this particular bystander has memory loss/can choose and forget important info. Since the MC is injured, she is under the bystander's care/supervision/suspicions and is hindered from her goals. For now, she told her savior that she Teleported which doesn't help things. As time passes, the MC learns more of her position in that world and has to make a decision. Will she tell the truth, that she Teleported from the Past to the Future, or will she continue using her help?
Guess that's it! Now, you're probably wondering why I'm calling the MC "the MC". Why don't I call her by her true name? Well, it's because no one in her Time period nor in the Future call her by her true name. She's either called "You!" or by a pseudonym. As for why I referred to the bystander vaguely, it's because her identity is also pretty complicated (Just read the story or skip to Ch 7 or 8 to find out).
The MC also went through several hoops and made a deal with her sister to join in a fine charade, which she detests. She was warned but didn't listen. Now, she regrets her choice and is trying to survive in the Future. But she can't manage for long. Sooner or later, she will need to face the consequences...
This novel is a slow burn dystopian novel. If the slow burn part isn't for you, then ch 11 and onwards will work. But it is preferred to read the entire novel, and even more preferred to read the excerpts before each chapter (annoying as they are...).
Ok, that really is it. If this sounds like your cup of tea, then do check it out! And if you have some feedback, please leave a comment!
