"In popular fiction, the Butterflies embody transcendence. But what if in reality, they serve to shackle humanity all along?"
Amaryllis Mendoza tackles the topic for her novel Screaming Butterflies, doubly serving as her future investment to passive income and distraction from her untimely study in Kyoto. As the summer heat gets more searing, it was time for her to finish her novel. Alongside with her housemate and consultant, Koharu Iijima, they burn their brain calories in pursuit of the perfect cyberpunk-horror story─of which they wrap up with a celebration in plan.
Afterwards, Amaryllis unwinds by shopping for their dinner party. Obviously unknown to her about encountering her novel's main character in flesh, Yotsuba Yazawa, as she walks out a specialty store by Teramachi Street like she wasn't a character inside a make-believe tale.
Thrilled in the aberration, she talks to her character─and chemistry bloomed beyond borders until without any reservations, she shows Amaryllis what the world is like, full in view as she unshackles her out from the enigma of butterflies.
