I used the word "exude" in chapter three... it means "To ooze forth." If that's not the best definition of a word ever, I don't know what is.

“fairfolk”
Most people stick with “fairy” or its alternative spelling, “faerie.” However, I wanted a more obscure word. It also feels a little bit more inclusive, like I could have different species that fall in that general category.

Seiche: a rhythmic oscillation in a lake or partially enclosed body of water that results in a higher water level due to changes in atmospheric pressure. Basically a still wave. It's also the name of Mancer's water spirit.

gyros: this isn't that weird, but what's funnier is my male lead's definition of them:


After a week of Kattar’s gloom and one week before the party, I told him I would come, and I could read his relief as he smiled, “Oh, good. I was worried you would miss out on all the cool stuff my mom is planning. You’ve never gotten to try gyros before, right?”

“No.”

Egyptian word for the vital essence that lingers after death, one of several parts of the soul. Though I use it in a much different context in the comic (represents the entire soul, not just a part, to simplify things)
