Promoting my comic through paid ads?

Are there any good ways to promote my comic through paid advertisements? I'm really inexperienced at promoting my comic and I wouldn't mind at all paying some money to get more views/subs etc. Getting your comic in front of the people who will enjoy it seems to be the hardest part of all of this, so, does anyone have any advice about the best ways to advertise a comic?

I really don't see the reason for using paid ads, unless you can make your money back within the month, because you can freely advertise ANYWHERE. You have Twitter and Instagram and Facebook. Yeah, these are small pools, but it's worked for many people on this site like @AnnaLandin. I know she uses Twitter a lot to promote her comic! I would look at those alternatives first before paying for ad space.

Tapastic itself promotes your comic through its own ads if you sign up for ad revenue.

Actually Ad Revenue is a way to earn money off of the ads displayed under your comic. It does not involve them promoting your comic.

If you're interested in paying for ad space, Project Wonderful might be a good option, but like @mrjonzap said, you can get a lot of free views by promoting yourself on social media before making the leap into paying for ad space.
