Promotion for stories that touch on mental health

Hey all, Saint here with another promotion. This one is for comics or novels that include mental health issues( PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, etc.)

My current novel, "Ex-MACHINA," includes various characters that suffer from some sort of mental/ emotional issue and trauma.

Beatrice: A woman dealing with struggles with the trauma of her childhood in which she lost her father and closest friend.
Anna: A 12-year-old girl who had no maternal figure in her life and dealt with a verbally and physically abusive father. Her only solace was an android whom she became close to who promised to run away with her and give her a better life before ultimately having his memory wiped.
Jay: Beatrice's partner, senior, and adoptive father who was a former Marine who served during WW3 and has combat-related PTSD.

Each of these characters carries the wait of their respective traumas which affects the choices they make throughout the story and it's ultimately through each other and the actions of android(called Auto Droids in the novel) Kyle -101 that they're each able to find ways to heal and find peace and through that peace build a better future for themselves and the world around them.

Heyy! My novel includes a few characters with mental health issues but the one that gets shown the most and talked about directly is the MC Scarlet. She struggles with PTSD due to trauma. There's also her best friend's brother who also struggles with PTSD because he watched his brother and father get shot.

What do you know? "Psychological Fiction" is literally one of the listed genres in mine! It's kind of hard for me to pin point exactly what kind of mental health it touches upon, though I suppose ASPD (Antisocial personality disorder) and depression would best fit the bill.

Donnie is a psychopathic kid who's been trying to escape his destructive downfall. Having to choose whether to keep trying to better himself, or take the easy way out and go full violent on his country's twisted, and backwards people. For now, he's taking advice from different entities, whether it's his plush toy Libby, his psychotic neighbor AJ, or a masked "dream" figure known as The Masked Stalkee.

GENRE: Dark Comedy, Horror, Psychological Fiction, Supernatural Fiction, Drama, Satire, Fantasy.

While at the current moment it's not much explored in-depth, Mental health is a key aspect of my story and its chapter's starting with the followings:
Alfredo: Dealing with a trauma that has to do with the event that led to his separation with his parents, plus the discovery of his newfound power who makes him doubt his humanity and the bond with his friends. + He does have some sort of ADHD or Autism (In any case, in the Spectrum), as He has a quite eccentric passion in engineering...
Eva: Is a War veteran, or was in a previous generation, and so, like many of her species, She has to deal with the weight of all her previous selves.
Ivan: Had to deal with the loss of his twin and as said in the Lorebook, there was a period where He was obsessed to do his best, especially out of guilt.
Jadie (Alfredo's Mother), for something related to two people of her past, she suffer depression, as She thinks to have failed to avoid what happened to them.

And many others, especially the antagonist, as they are the result of their untreated illnesses and who never managed to move on from their traumas, like what the protagonist are trying to.

My main character Dorothy suffers from anxiety, depression, and crippling insecurity over her inhuman appearance. Unfortunatly these mental illnesses are only exasperated by her psychic abilities, literally being able to know what others are thinking and being trapped in her own mind. Dorothy struggles to define the line between her dreams and reality not knowing if the threatening presence in her psyche is an external or internal threat.
A major theme I'm currently exploring is her inability to express her concerns over her worsening condition with her companions. This will affect her character growth later on as well how she reacts to future characters and situations.

Well, my webcomic will tackle mental health, especially that of the main character. It is psychologically focused and, in the upcoming arcs, you'll be able to notice how the characters are slowly changing, become different and how they're being shaped by the events (especially traumatic ones). Frederick, in particular, will be living lots of hard situations.

Another thing is: Frederick seeks to help out as many people as he can, but when he fails, he uncontrollably bursts into fits of rage. He's very impulsive and brash when taking certain decisions. Nigel is a coward: he's scared of fighting, scared of change and he also tends to underestimate himself a lot. So yeah, when it comes to the psychological aspect of the series, there are (and there are going to be) many important moments.

Genre: Action, Fantasy, Adventure, Drama.

Synopsis: In an age where darkness threatens humanity, a terrible accident forever changes the lives of the two brothers Frederick and Nigel. After three long years, they are met by a strange yet eccentric individual who seems to know a lot about their past. Follow the adventures of Frederick and Nigel in their quest to defeat the evil and rescue their loved ones.

On my comic, I'll focus a lot on mental health and it will feature a cast with a lot of different mental health issues with some of the main themes being social anxiety, PTSD, child abuse, self-harm, and suicide.

It is an action / urban fantasy with a plot that might get convoluted sometimes but I'll still take the time to show the characters dealing with their mental health issues and even if their mental health is somehow linked to their abilities I'll still show the negative ways in which mental illness affects their lives as to avoid glorifying it.

My novel Jade Kingdoms' theme is generational abuse actually, and how to stop the cycle of this trauma. Includes anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies related to trauma. This is for all of us who could have had better parents, but are trying to move forward in life without sugar-coating the hurt we've been through. I hope we heal from the things we've been through.
