Purple Hair in a Novel?

So I have a comic, but I already have another comic I'm drawing and I can't do both. I want to make this new comic as a novel, but my character designs have unrealistic hair colors. In book it's always the normal colors unless it's dyed or there's a special reason. If you were reading a book, do you think it would be too silly to have purple haired characters?

idk seems a little clumsy to say "she had hair dyed purple". shrug. I'm new to writing

It's natural to assume her hair was dyed without stating it directly
Depending on how long it's been in, you could mention the color fading

It's a fantasy world with martial arts, magic, sort of a medieval feel and a mix of Caucasian and Asian people

Okay, violet hair is no more or less common than you want it to be in your high fantasy Eurasian world. You could even establish this with the character dialog. A new character could say to the protagonist, "Lookit you, a fella with purple locks sure stands out in this crowd. You must have ancestors from the Iridium Islands." -- or something like that.

I have characters in a comic with unnatural hair colors that I didn’t really clarify yet in the novel version. One character has tannish/pink hair and the other has a forest green. I just said that the one character has “dark hair and light eyes”. I figured if I clarified the hair color later it’d be assumed dyed, though in the comic it was just their natural colors to me.

The haircolor won't matter too much. Not unless you specifically make it something that bothers the character (Like if they are asked about it a lot).

However you must absolutely never. NEVER. refer to this character as a "Purpleette" or any variation. It is the ugliest way to refer to a character and reduces you work on them to their hair color
