Question about Tapas Ink

I'm a bit of a dough head but I'm confused about the whole "ink" thing on Tapas. Several of my followers have given me Ink, which I know is some kind of currency on tapas. Does it have any real value? Can I ever redeem my Ink in cold hard cash to help support my work? Or is it simply a digital token equivalent to a high five or a thumbs up? Thanks.

Ink does equate to real world currency! I mean, it's not much, but it adds up over time. Once you have $25 in your balance, you can request a transfer to your paypal account. You can see your balance on your Dashboard under the Revenue tab.

Thanks. Do you know if the ink ever expires? Do I have to reach $25 within a certain time period, or does it just keep gradually building over time?

It doesn't expire and the ink and money builds up indefinitely.
