Question of the day- appearance edition!

important!!! I will be throwing in things like prompt of the day along with the questions! just to make it more fun! So be on the look out for those posts as well! they will be character development stuff still because you will showing how your character reacts in the situations that the prompts will contain. now onto todays question!

Does your character care about appearances? Do they really care what people think about them?

KErren tries to act like he doesn't, but it's hard with most everyone and their mother is whispering about him behind their hands with looks of disgust and fear on their faces. He tries to make himself look nonthreatening. not look like Keiron, the One Before.
it doesnt really work, but he does still have people that didn't care and became his friends and family, so slowly he does get out of the phase of caring. at one point, he even dyes the tips of his hair pink : D

Ryvan cares extremely about his appearance. He has a separate wardrobe for going to uni and his normal life. At uni, he won't wear anything excessive because that's what he prefers and he wants to fit in but outside from campus, you can find him with his designer glasses and golden watch.

Taren is the total opposite and doesn't care much even though he is extremely handsome

Oh YES, just yes. Lisianthus care a lot and I mean A LOT about appearances. He grew up thinking he is nothing more than a dirty orphan from a cursed and evil realm who was adopted by a benevolent king. So he tries to keep up his looks at the higgest to show he deserves his position. Its almost physical hurtful for him to look messy or dirt.

As for the question. Ivan is a narcissist. The worst kind of narcissist. He always thinks he looks and acts much better than everyone else and puts a lot of effort into making sure everyone else thinks the same. In a sense, he needs them to think that way. But all of that self-confidence has come crashing down with the introduction of a new character o(￣┰￣*)ゞ

Scruffy Dude
Even if he did, there's not much chance he'd be able to maintain a 'mask' for very long before it slipped off in a moment of joy, or sadness, or temper. His emotions run too close to the surface. So no, he doesn't care much about what others think of him, so long as they don't think he's an arse.

The Merry Maiden
Merry usually wouldn't worry about projecting a particular image of herself, but the position she's in as the leader of a large rebellion demands that she present herself as cool, calm and competent. It does take a toll on her, as she's a lot warmer under that mask, and it can be exhausting keeping her uncertainties and insecurities tidily hidden away... but she's been in this situation many times before. She's lucky in that she has a fairly regal air about her, so she doesn't have to pretend, exactly. She just needs to remain professional. She also has Boxer and Glitch with her, who are akin to family; she can be her whole self around them, and lean on them for support.

Glitch
Glitch gives absolutely zero shits what anybody thinks about her.

Boxer
Boxer actively revels in the fact that most people assume he's a big, dumb idiot with muscles for brains, and loves basking in the moment when they realise that isn't the case. He doesn't put on a front, though. He's an open book.

Shyba: He is super self conscious about his appearance due to his unnatural red eyes and a scar on his arm. He does his best to hide them because of how much these things bother him and because they make him easily identifiable considering he is on the run. But when it comes to caring what people think of him, he mainly only cares what the people closest to him think.

Kiara: She tends to care too much about what other people think of her, which is where she struggles a lot to grow.

Genji is a former soldier, and a high-end PI so he always dresses neatly and makes sure his suits and ties are in perfect order. In terms of caring about what people think though? He couldn't care less.

Neither Robin or Dai care much about appearance (though Robin tries to at least be relatively proper due to upbringing) and they don't really care for other peoples perception of them.

Dai has dealt with folks assuming they were intimidating but anyone whose gotten to know them has realized their incredibly kind and caring especially the few who's she's let close. As for Robin they've had to deal with being underestimated do to size and being seemingly oblivious to the scale of things or just generally a bit of a klutz but closer observation just shows that they're far more capable than people assume as well as smart and perceptive.

They're both definitely tired of folks and their assumptions but both get a bit of smug satisfaction when people are made aware of who they really are, what they're like and what they're capable of.

Gen wants to be seen as strong and wield a sword like his mentor, but he’s fifteen, short and skinny currently.

It causes some embarrassment and frustration until he learns to rely on his other skills (and the God Stones).

He’s basically a mage trying to be a tank for the first few chapters. It doesn’t go well.
