Hi! Today I have a question. How can a comic or a book be published on the Daily Snack that appears on the app every day?
First I thought that it was because the chapters were avanced and the comic was the most visited. Later I saw that even the new comics were promoted on the Daily Snack. Thanks!!!

I'm new here, so I may be wrong, but I believe the "Daily Snacks" are selected by the staff.

I was told during the holiday event that the daily snack weren't actually chosen by staff but its all apart of some complex algorithm like the rest of the site. Hopefully these threads will help clear up the issue for you.

Those threads are kind of old though... The first one is from 2015 and the second one 2016. That was before there were novels and things like that.

I doubt the tapas staff would change the algorithm for daily snack just because of the release of novels & etc. Maybe at most lower the minimum ..whatever requirement for novels, but I don't see why the release of extra features would warrant a change to how the daily snack is chosen.

Well, depending on how they're chosen, especially if they're coded in a certain way, may originally have been set up in a way that would only include comics (since they're separate features, I suspect that they're also different on the back-end in the coding). Though, yeah, novels do show up in the daily snacks, but generally, algorhythms are changed depending on features that were liked or new things they can try out through the new features that have been added lately.
Just because we don't see a huge difference doesn't mean that there aren't constant changes on the other side.

You got a point, daily snack might be based off the amount of attention something gets in a day. I've got a good feeling it'd have to be a lot to get past trending + popular and into daily snack - but I meant it as in significant changes to the algorithm, enough to warrant a new thread from staff announcing the changes.

Daily snack used to be just pure gag-a-days or comics where you didn't need context to enjoy them, but that thread mentions Michael finally added in long-term comics and in order to increase your chances you'd have to have an 'introductory' episode that reveals your MC and so on.

Novels probably have the same requirements where you need to reveal the who/what/where/when in the first few pages. They're basically the same as long-term comics without the pictures, you have to be invested in a novel most of the time.
