Question to my Spanish/bilingual friends

I have a novel and I only know the tiniest bit of Spanish... That said if use Google translate and make a Spanish version of my book do you think it would help with more people interested....

I only know basic Spanish. Fluent in English and Tagalog.

I won't trust Google translate. It's good with word for word but things like syntax, grammar, etc is not always the best.

My native language is Spanish, and I can confidently tell you not to rely on Google translate. One time, a writer shared the first chapters of her novel with me, and let me tell you, there were a lot of mistakes with pronouns and other inconsistencies.

While it was somewhat understandable, I told her that maybe only 70% of the translation was actually accurate. If you get the chance, hire someone to help with that.

I agree with what the others said (not bilingual myself but I know a solid amount of French and some Dutch). In French class we weren't even allowed to use google translate, not just because we needed to do the work ourselves but because it's not accurate besides word for word. And our teachers were easily able to tell if we used google translate.

If you need a translator I’d be willing to help. I’m fluent in Spanish since it’s my first language. I’d gladly help you free of charge. Don’t use google translate since it can take a lot of sentences out of context. It’d be better to use a person to translate.
