Hoo boy, catching up slowly but surely...
16. Enjoy writing dialog? Absolutely! I often type all the dialogue in a separate txt file in an attempt to keep it short (not often the case, lol). But I love it when characters have philosophical tirades or explore each others views. Glad it's a drama.
18. funniest/saddest/romantic? Upcoming scenes? Well, "The Tryons" I think had the saddest moment of Alec under his desk after a mental episode. "Pestilence" has it's fair share of drama and humor. "The Blind Owls" I think was highly suspenseful. Not a lot of romance yet, but it's coming. And the saddest moment in my story will be coming in Season Four: The Black Order, but it won't be for a long while.
19. Moment where you realized you had a lot to learn as a writer/artist? Honest, after uploading two months of content then going to the forums for a review. I learned too late that my text was barely readable and that nothing was funny about the opening scene(I had put comedy as the main genre because it had a different direction than what has actually transpired. I'm actually really glad for that review, cause once I put it in the Drama category, the story began to almost write itself. There's still comedy though, to lighten up the tone. Enjoy it folks, cause The Black Order will have very little of ha-ha moments. Still got a long way to go as an artist, I believe.
20. Similarities/differences in other series? Well, comparing "Friar Chicken"(FC) to "The Last Train"(TLT), obviously, they're both about chickens. TLT chickens wear clothes while FC chickens don't. TLT has a female lead while FC has a male lead. TLT is a bit darker than FC and less humorous. Plus, it's shorter.
I'm gonna extend/continue the TLT series and both series will get darker but will end on lighter/bittersweet notes.
21. Main idea behind story? Faith and consumerism? Social order? I honestly don't know yet...
22. Do any chars write themselves? I guess Friar in a way, cause I know him the most. He always says "cannot" instead of "can't" which lends to his more eloquent way of speaking (and he's one of the few chickens who can read and write, so that's saying something) Also, he's a bit of a know-it-all, stubborn, and overly-confident, so, yeah, he definitely writes himself at times without my intervention XD

Ahh, i've definitely written some more philosophical, though still emotional, rambles from my leads in my novels. I have to work on avoiding that for my new action novel though lol, I spend too much time in characters' heads.

This is not a usually, but Therese and and Verner became a couple the day they met

Therese and Verner had their first kiss the day they met. Verner is kind of impulsive.

Right now, it's probably Therese George. I like writing the way she speaks, though it's a bit unusual since english isn't her first language, so sometimes her sentences are structured in a way we usually wouldn't say things.

“Hush, my pet,” Therese is whispering with her hand on my arm and one finger to her lips, just as my fingertips light on the handle to the front door. “Where are we headed in such a shaky hurry, my sweet?”

Which of your characters suprised you/surprises you the most?

Whether is be because they made a drastic character change at some point in the story or their development, or "wrote themself" a scene that was really unexpected when the idea came to you.

In "Damsel in the Red Dress" I think that's hard to judge, since many of my characters have a surprising twist or side to them, but maybe the one that seems most surprising when you know her character is Melissa. I don't want to give too many spoilers, since I know how much the readers love her and they probably want to get to know more about her, but her backstory is surprisingly tragic for such a sweet and cheerful little angel.

The one that surprised ME the most though, is probably Alicia. Originally I had planned for her parents to have had a divorce that wasn't explained very much, but it's become complicated, relating to a lot of factors that go WAY deep, and make the plot quite and intricately tangled web.

In "A Dozen Morning Glories" it's probably the Giang siblings. Yeah, this is multiple characters, but so I'll just say Dominic because of a nuance of his character that surprised me when I wrote it in. despite hating that his older sister smokes because it's bad for her and he worries, he finds the smell of cigarette smoke comforting because he associates it with his teen years when she would come and pick him and his little sister up in her car and take them out for ice cream and such to cheer them up since their lives are, quite frankly, awful. For a green freak character who makes very conscious choices about not driving to try to preserve the environment and such, liking the smell of cigarettes feels really dichotomous, and yet it makes sense for his backstory.

I think that, oddly enough, the ones who surprised me the most were Agarath and Aiden - both antagonists and "villains" of the story. Aiden will still officially debut in chapters ahead, and his actions will be controversial in many ways, mostly because he's very unpredictable (he can surprise either positively or negatively). Agarath, on the other hand, had a crucial role in crushing Mine's soul and rebuilding it, helping him with the Chronos' mask issue.
These two are >despicable<, but their roles turned out to be crucial for the story :joy:

I have said this before in another thread but for Tales of Valor is definitely Carter, In my first drafts he was just the bully archetype for the main character to have a minor human antagonist, but then I realized that as I was developing more chapters that mention him I started to like the dynamics he had with Ozwald and Higen.

From the journey I would go with Parker, he is the one character I have that is not very emotional, most of his dialogs are made with his head, not his heart, but on rare moments his mask slips and you see the fun guy he is and at first I thought "I don't think this scene fits him" but the more I read it I liked to show his personality, he grew on me.

For Empyreal Calamities, I think the one that surprised me is Varrick. Varrick doesn't appear much, but his chapters show a different side of the story. And even though he's not around, he's still mentioned by Len sometimes since Varrick raised him. And it kind of surprised me that my readers enjoy reading his chapters. I originally wanted him to be a kind and cinnamon roll-like character like Tanjiro from Demon Slayer, but Varrick ended up being more like Howl from Howl's Moving Castle. More cool and confident with a hint of cockiness.

For The Weak Dwarven Prince, my character Ignacia has surprised me. She was not planned at all! I added her on impulse and it seems like a lot of readers enjoy her. I wasn't expecting her to be so well-liked. Not sure what makes her likable. I'm guessing it's her chaotic goose energy (sorry I don't have another way to describe her energy XD) and her creativity.

ahh this sounds a lot like my character Melissa. I added her because i wanted my FL to get to make another friend, but she's so chaotic and silly that everyone loves her

49: Do you ever get ideas that you think are too cruel to your characters to actually include in the story?

My editor comments that I keep making life harder for Kattar, and yeah, it's honestly pretty sad, but it also just seems to make sense in context, so it would almost feel weirder not to include the ideas once they come to me. And it's the same thing in my novel "Crystal Blue" as well. How about you? Do you ever feel like your ideas are just too cruel to the characters for you to actually use them?

When I organized the plot for my story, I think about some of the ideas that may be deemed too intense or too dark to include. War of Neytives is intended to have real life issues, major character deaths, physical/mental disabilities, and others things put under the mature rating. It's not so that readers have a hard time getting through the story, but to shed some light on certain matters and progress the story, plot-wise. If these things don't happen, then my characters will feel lackluster.

Nah, but it's honestly a struggle for me to keep a balance. I don't like novels that are too edgy or bleak for bleakness's sake. But I find it so much more believable to have bad things just continually happening than for any good things to happen lolol. I think in my own life, I'm a pretty optimistic person. But when considering questions about how society is going to evolve or what the people with all the power are going to do... I mean, obviously, the answers are "in the worst possible way" and "the worst possible thing," respectively.

In the novel itself, the main character frequently ruminates on how much easier it is to tear things down than to build them back up, and how much better he is at the former than the latter. I think I have the same problem, narratively. It's so easy to make the world believably go to shit and so much harder to make it believably improve. If I knew how to fix a broken society, I'd be running for office, not writing gay fantasy stories on Tapas.

49: Which of your characters (physical) appearances has changed the most since you started writing/planning the story.

In "Damsel in the Red Dress" Kattar looks the most different from how he did at the start of the story, but it's not a huge divergence from my original plan. However, I had very little concept of what Alicia looked like when the story started, so over time, in my imagination, she got shorter, curvier, chubbier, with a rounder face and much longer much curlier hair. Her hair also became lighter to the point where she even has copper strands in her brown hair.

do writers and artists more skilled than you inspire or frustrate/discourage you?

Usually, I would say they inspire me. At least, writers who are better than me do. Artists who are better than me though, often discourage me, making me wonder how long it will take me to get to their level, or just leading me to start comparing my own art to theirs. That said, it DOES also inspire me to practice and draw more, so it's a combination.

How about you. are you inspired or discouraged?

Definitely Claudita has changed appearance over the years

1) classic angel appearance

2) made her show a little more skin..

3) brown jacket

4) kept the pink long sleeves for awhile. Perfect balance of modesty and functionality in my opinion

Used to be a little bit of both. But nowadays, it's become irrelevant. We all are at our own respective pace.

My artist friends always inspire me to pick my tablet´s pen and draw something after I see their latest uploads, for writers it kinda depends on the writer I recently joined a book club and so far none of the books have blown me away but when I read something from here or other sites it catches my attention quicker.

Q1: Hottest Character
Honestly, Dahlia. She's a side character that hasn't made her debut in the story yet, but yeah. She can shapeshift between male and female (or whatever she wants to look like) but she sorta stays true to her original appearance, and every aspect of her whether she's being ultra feminine, androgynous, or hyper masculine (in my head anyway) is just sexy. Maybe I can explore that more when she gets a stand-alone story.

There's also a villainous assassin called Fei that i actually seemed to have gone out of my way to describe him as a little beauty.

by stories, complete and wip:
SoF: Dahlia. Zane. Zane is Dahlia's half brother and in my head drools
Unnamed Novella: Pierce (imagine Karl Urban as Cupid)
SoF unnamed Sequel: I'm only a chapter in! So...I'mma say Amadeus.

Q:2 Smartest Character
Pasha. XD He's only a year old when he briefly appears, but he'll have a bigger role in the future. He's meant to be very smart and even eventually solves a big problem in the world, almost single handedly.

But if we're talking characters in the first story, probably Amadeus. He seems to be very sharp. He's only a tertiary character, but he's been demonstrating his intellegence.

Q:3 What story is next?
For now I'll be writing stories set in the same world. My tentative short-term plan is an introductory duology or trilogy with smaller stories scattered between and after. In fact the next thing I post will probably not be the direct sequel to Songs of Fate but a novella centering on a smaller, more concise and contained story.

Q4 What is your writing super power?
Powering through I think? Just getting it written is 99.99999999% of the trouble a lot of people have. Although this super power can be spotty XD

Q5 How long do your couples usually know each other before they become official?
This is a problem. IDK yet :expressionless: Romance hasn't been the main focus of my writing in a very long time. I think it will depend on the couple going forward. That's what the "smaller stories" will concentrate on.

7: What character is your favorite to write (story by story)
Britiana has always been one of my favorite characters. She started life as a rp character so she's been with me a very long time.

8: Who is your most difficult character to write?
Chrystianna. I just don't really connect with her like I do with almost every other character. Even the "bad guys" are easier to write. IDK why. So I'm always a bit afraid she comes off one dimensional?

9: What is your favorite dynamic to write overall? What about just non romantic ones? What about just romantic ones?
NR-Britiana and Darius when they have their bickering moments. They are siblings.
NR-Amadeus and Lazarus. They're cousins with great teamwork.
Sonja and Zane.
R-Chrystianna and Elias. When she's interacting with him is among the few times I find writing her easiest.

10. Who are your favorite couples in your stories?
Eek. Again. Not much romance so far so I haven't written much coupley-ness, but back when they were first conceptualized, I like Amadeus and Luna a lot but that dynamic is still awhile off. Oh and my flights of fancy about Pasha and Damion have been top notch XD

8: Do you like writing siblings in your stories?
sigh Entirely too much. I've had tendencies in the past when writing fanfic of "everyone's related to this or that important character!" as well x_X But that shouldn't be too much of a problem in Emphyralis given the scope. I just have siblings and cousins everywhere!

10: Do any of your characters really make you hate them?
Draycen and Adonis. They are "bad guys" without big parts, but there's this unlikeability about them both to me. Like Adonis is kinda greasy and smarmy and Draycen just gives me ick vibes. It probably hasn't come across in writing yet, but this is how they are in my head.

11: How important are parents to your stories?
Family is a core concept in my story. Chrystianna is the mother of the two main characters. It's her driving force to save her children that kicks off the series.

12: Who are your favorite side characters?
OMG! Amadeus and Lazarus for sure! Delaney and Sariya. I love Sariya so much I have bonus chapters dedicated solely to her, but she's existed as a character even longer than Britiana so that might be why. Dahlia. She only had a small role, but I think she makes an impression.
Not a side character at all, but there's a minor character that comes in in the last 4th of the story called Gorka who just stole the freakin show. He cracks me tf up!

13: What character do you think is your most unique design?
Sariya. Not because dark elves are rare, especially in a fantasy novel, but i think she's unique in a lot of ways. Compared to how I structured her society, she's small for her race because of thinsg that will be told in her bonus chapters. Unlike every other character, she knows practically no magic and makes her living by hunting. Being a dark elf in the group also makes her stand out, but thats just in the group.

14: What's the hardest chapter/episode you've written so far?
the last fight/battle. Ugh. I used to write power rangers fanfiction where i'd adapt super sentai episodes and even when I visually had a guide to how the fight went, it was still a pain in the arse to write. This time i had to choreograph in my head from scratch ;_; i know it will probably be disappointing to readers, and will have to think about how to make it better when i go to edit it.

15: Who is your most fun character to draw (or if it's a novel) which of your characters aesthetics/fashion statements to you find the most fun?
I can't wait to design Sariya. I haven't felt very artsy, and I only do pixel art, but i did design an emoji head for her XD

16: Do you enjoy writing dialog (specifically long conversations?)
yeah buddy.

18: What's the funniest chapter you've released so far? What is the saddest? What is the most romantic? Are any other scenes coming that will knock these chapters off their pedestals.
i don't which one would be the funniest. Perhaps, because of the character I mentioned before, Gorka, it would be the final fight. The saddest is one in which a funeral happens, but it was a "bad guy" so there's more a reflection centered, where his oldest sister while sad, reflects back on how he got to that point, and his wife tries not to lose her temper at his sisters, and feel heartache for their children. It's probably the most emotional chapter and these aren't even the main characters in the main storyline.

In my personal opinion, my deuteragonist named Ren Yoshimaru is the most attractive. A killer suit can be, well... killer. He's also got a clean haircut and a sharp look in his eyes.

As for the smartest character, that would probably be the ye old "older mentor" character. In this case, that would be Dallon Brookes, the owner of the poker house in Liberty City. While Ren might be the most book smart, Dallon beats out most characters with overall intelligence and wisdom.

50: If you weren't a writer, what would you be doing?

Assuming 'pouring all my attention into becoming an illustrator' isn't a viable answer, i would be a musician. I already want to do music as well, so I'd be putting most of my time and energy into that. I have a lot of interests tbh
