For BL it's all japanese comic, I would say Junjou Romantica, Titan's Bride, Kiraide Isasete, Kizuato ni Kuchizuke and Yankee Ω wa Kemono Ou-sama no Mono!. All of them are not for minors.

For fantasy, I would say Fate/ Stay Night and Yakitate Japan.

I mean, they're not turtle people, but in the new percy jackson-ish book (the sun and the star) and also in the fourth (I think) Trials of Apollo books, they have these things called troglodytes and there the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Ive only read up to book 3? of heroes and the kane chronicles but they seem fun. I once played a kenku (crow bird person) in a dnd game and i broke into the police captains house, stole his uniform pants, then wore them as a hat to a meeting with him the next day.

so i get the hat thing. lol.
