Redoing my cover

I'm redoing my cover for my noverl (last time I promise) because I have finallyy decided I want Tritetia on the cover. The romance is slow burn sure, but she is pretty important to Cyran's story so I feel she deserves to be there.
this is the wip:

Since she is still a secondary character and shy, i thought it best is she was facing away, since she is unsure of herself.

Any feedback or thoughts are welcome!

The perspective on the dude’s horns is weird. It looks like they both point in the wrong direction.

I did a quick sketch of the view from the top. I hope you understand what I mean.

For the female lead, I don’t think the current pose conveys uncertainty. It is way too neutral for that. I think it might be better if she stands less straight, her arm not just at her side, and slightly worried expression.

Finally, from the current image, I feel like the framing is slightly too tight. It needs a little bit more margin on the side, otherwise it might look like a badly cropped image.

I might have sounded harsh, but I think you have a good style, and even if you ignore my nitpicks, your cover will probably still be good.

I did the exact same thing- my story is also a slow burn romance and I gaslighted myself into thinking the romance wasn’t the main focus (it’s like the biggest plot point) The original cover had just the MC but I made a new one with the FL as well.

Hmmm, I guess I kinda see what you mean, but they are supposed to be angled just away from the center of his head. I am terrible with perspective, so I guess i get where the second looks like its angling the same way as the first. (i also have no idea how to even think about fixing it)

I did end up moving them over and making it so neither was center (my intial idea was for Tritetia to be hidden behind Cyran but I ended up agreeing that it looked weird.)

I'll likely keep making micro adjustments for a while lol

I went and put my money where my mouth is (metaphorically) and tried doing the horn in perspective over the first drawing you posted.

It is still not perfect but if you like what I did, you can use it as a drawing reference if you want. The lines should match the shape of the head.

Its A drama!
the romance is slooooow, so I don't feel comfortable calling it a straight romance, but is full of character drama!
I decided to add Tritetia to the cover because she's important to the plot, even before Cyran stops being an idiot

I think it might help to make the character in the background slightly smaller. When characters that are standing at different depths are drawn the same size, the one in the back can sometimes end up looking larger than intended.

Also, perhaps it would look more natural if the tops of their heads weren’t so close in height — this can add more variation and make the composition feel livelier.

made some more adjustments, mostly adjusting shadows and highlights, although I did angle Cyran's horn a bit
