I actually did consider doing a "same universe" type deal between the two bodies of work but the time frames didn't line up and then I had the brilliant idea to set the novel a hundred years in the future. Since I'm not that far into the novel, I have more freedom to change the names around than I do in the serial.
In the serial, the baby is probably going to be named Grace instead of Lily, but I might change my mind. (It's also a tie to my given name aside from the obvious symbolism "saving grace".) I haven't decided on what I'm going to rename the love interest and the daughter in the novel yet. I know I want them to be easily pronounceable for most all English speakers.
