So...you all are starting to get to know me on the forums and one of the things I like people to know about me is: I enjoy sharing resources and tools that I find help shape characters, stories, and art.
If I find something helpful or something I feel can be used as a guide to help give more depth to literary projects, I do my best to make sure other people know about it as well.
Today's share is:
Legends of America
This site is a veritable treasure trove of American history up to and including observations about Native American culture and interactions with historical figures. It also includes a segment on the verbiage of the 1800's (dubbed Old West) and the cowboy/mountain man way of life.
But that's not all: It also included more recent history and covers a range of topics to things such as ghost towns, myths, and monsters, war and military observations, and state by state references on points of interest.
If you're working on a western or any other literary project that is based on America, American history or just want to plug in some neat ideas from historical context, I highly recommend this site!
Check it out and tell me what you think.
Also: Let me know if you'd like me to continue sharing these with you guys. I really do come across all sorts of fun things like this and always on the lookout for more.
