Reusing Backgrounds, yay or nay?

Since many of the backgrounds are drawn already, would it be a good idea to be used again? If you have the entire background layered in Photoshop or any drawing softwares?

It does save time and with few adjustments here and there, it would like new.

This technique was used in many Hanna-Barbera cartoons and many animation productions to get them the most out of the least or sometimes using the same character drawn but adjusted so that it wouldn't look to same-y.

What are your thoughts especially if the BG is already detailed enough?

Yea, that's a normal practice when it comes to comic making. As long has backgrounds aren't overused, it should be fine.

Absolutely; see no reason not to People even reuse character art sometimes if they have common expressions/angles etc :]

Personnaly i don't mind! I'm not a fan of BGs in the first place!

Inio asano does it for all of his manga, and his backgrounds are critically acclaimed.

I frequently copy-paste my background inks either to use as-is, or as pencils to ink over as part of another background. It saves a ton of time, and it's really unnoticeable.

So long as the background is consistent with the angle of the characters, and doing its job (establishing who is where and what the general conditions are), and looks decent enough that it's not jarring, basically anything goes.

You can reuse backgrounds or just use parts of it and change them slightly.
When you draw a forest you can draw way more than you need for that panel and then use parts of it
as a background in different panels. That way your backgrounds will also look more consitant

I 3D model my background and I still end up reusing renders I've used in previous panels! It's perfectly fine to do so, especially if you've put so much work into drawing them, so as long as it's not overdone.
