Introduction – About Me
Hi! I’m Wakane, a writer with one published novel and several more outlined—except this webcomic idea grabbed me and refused to let go. I’ve scripted a large portion of the story and I’m looking for a long-term Artist/Colorist collaborator to help bring it to life in full color.

Project Details / Pitch:
Title: HEARThrob™: Legends of Nexus
Genres: Dark Fantasy - Urban Fantasy - Drama - Psychological - Supernatural - LGBTQ+ - Dark Comedy / Comedy - Slice of Life - Entertainment Industry - Horror Themes
Format: Long-form, vertical webcomic - Full color
Tone: Emotional, cinematic, supernatural—with a balance of heavy trauma, political stakes, idol-life chaos, and cozy/funny moments.
Premise (Short):
In a world where all supernatural, mythical, and magical beings coexist, Nexus Entertainment’s crown‑jewel idol group HEARThrob™ isn’t just globally adored—they’re literally supernatural princes. Five celestial and infernal heirs rise to become the world’s #1 K‑Pop group while centuries of trauma, divine decrees, and Realm politics simmer beneath the glamor.
The series shifts between:
* Idol-life shenanigans and chaotic villa/home slice-of-life
* Dreamlike, symbolic emotional sequences
* Intimate therapy sessions and trauma recovery
* Supernatural court politics and ancient contracts
* Dramatic fashion opera runway shows and magical performances
At its heart, it’s about supernatural brothers learning to protect, love, and heal one another in a world that demands perfection.
I have multiple arcs outlined and a long timeline planned, but we’ll start with a clearly defined Season 1 so the commitment is manageable.
Paid or Non‑Paid? Collaboration / Partnership
This is a Rev‑Share Collaboration / Co‑Creator Partnership, not an upfront paid job.
Revenue share applies to:
The webcomic (platform ad revenue, bonuses, and print collections that use your art).
Future visual novel content using your art assets as well as future advertisements for HEARThrob™ {ex. Tik Toks, Instagram or Facebook Reels, etc.}
Merch and promo items that feature your HEARThrob™ artwork (prints, posters, apparel, etc.).
Mostly text-based items (like lyric books that use minimal or no art) will be treated separately and discussed clearly before anything is sold.
Details (percentages, payout schedule, included products) will be negotiated together and put in writing before we start regular production.
You will be credited as the artist everywhere your work appears (webcomic, promo, merch, socials, etc.).
This is intended as a genuine creative partnership, with shared risk and shared upside.
What I’m Looking For (Skills & Style)
Ideal Art Style:
Manhwa-inspired or stylized realism
Soft yet expressive facial work
Strong emotional acting and body language
You should enjoy drawing:
Modern idol aesthetics: stages, fashion, choreography, fan events
Supernatural effects: wings, halos, magic, auras, demonic/fey/angelic transformations
High-fashion / couture and performance outfits
Dynamic lighting and cinematic panels
Both contemporary city/idol settings and fantastical courts/Realms
Core Tasks:
Full-color webtoon panels in vertical format
Refining existing concept art into final character designs
Visual storytelling for:
Idol-life chaos and comedy
Heavy emotional / psychological scenes
Political/supernatural confrontations
Quiet, intimate healing moments
Horror themes
I want your input on layouts, visual motifs, and design choices—this is not “do exactly what’s in my head”; it’s a collaboration where your style and ideas help shape how HEARThrob™ looks and feels.
Required Software (Flexible)
Preferred but flexible:
Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
Ability to deliver high-res, webtoon-ready pages (and, ideally, layered files for future print/edits).
If you mainly use another program but can output print-safe and platform-ready files, that works.
Schedule / Scale (Season 1 Focus)
To avoid overwhelm, we’ll define Season 1 together:
Example: 10–20 episodes for Season 1.
Tentative pace: something sustainable like 1 episode every 2–4 weeks, depending on complexity and your bandwidth.
We prioritize consistency and health over grind—schedule is negotiable and we can adjust after a few episodes.
I already have story material ready, so there won’t be script delays on my side. After Season 1, we can decide together whether to continue, adjust terms, or pause.
Contact Info
If you’re interested, please reply here on the Tapas forums or send me a PM with:
A short intro (who you are, time zone, any comic/webtoon experience).
Your portfolio link.
Your availability / realistic pace (e.g., “1 episode per month,” etc.).
Any initial questions or thoughts about rev‑share and collaboration.
If we seem like a good fit, we’ll:
Chat more about expectations, boundaries, and creative freedom.
Review a simple written rev‑share agreement together.
Start with a smaller test (e.g., character sheet or a short scene) before committing to all of Season 1.
Portfolio / Previous Work – What I’d Love to See
Character art with expressive faces and emotions.
Fantasy or supernatural pieces (wings, magic, auras, transformations).
Fashion / stage outfits or modern settings.
Any comic / webtoon pages or short sequences showing paneling and storytelling.
If you love:
K‑Pop / idol aesthetics and high-fashion visuals
Dark fantasy and psychological drama
Found family, trauma healing, and messy but loving group dynamics
Drawing pretty supernatural princes in ridiculous outfits while the world (and the Realms) are on the line…
…then I’d love to hear from you.
