@antimekii Reserving this spot for review. INCOMING REVIEW. SOON.
Okay, first impressions.
Fourth wall breaking, normally I'm not all for that kind of stuff, but in measured amounts it's a great comic relief. I'm glad to say that your fourth wall breaking seems to be hilariously tied into the story. Also, instantly a fan of Liam and Aleska. I don't know why. There is a lot of dynamic threads of drama happening, and it's a good thing that you're not dumping on it all at once. There are a few parts of confusion where I had to go back and read a few pages to kind of grasp who was who, mainly the interests between the others and Aleska.
What's nice that I've noticed so far is that the streams of internal monologues seem to really pull some emotional strings for me. I did come across quite a few spots of comical bursts, IE "I don't think the shippers will approve", that make me burst out laughing. It's a little strange, it might just be personal preference for me, but you seem to try to keep the story as light as possible without getting too dark with emotions; I could see it getting even darker. But hey, that's personal preference/suggestion. Some of the comedic timing feels a little forced at times, but it's definitely not a show-stopper. I've noticed in the later pages that this seems to slow down quite a bit, which I think is a good thing.
With some mild confusion in the earlier pages: trying to figure out this love-octogramish thing, it seems to have kind of eased out a bit as you've tapered down with the influx of new characters. Each character seems to have varied and interesting personalities.
Art wise, I think from the start to the newest page there has been a pretty drastic improvement to how you're settling into this kind of style of comic. Expressions are hilarious, and emotions show.
Earlier pages had very busy line-work that blended into the rest of the line-work with similar weight. Now there is a bit more confidence in your line weight. I've noticed a bit more of a painterly approach to the newer backgrounds. In some events I think it works well, but like the page here: https://tapastic.com/episode/96273 , I think the background work was really outstanding. Time intensive, yeah, but it had that kind of rigidity to it. Later pages seem to drop most of the line-work, but even some loose dark lines might help bring that kind of rigidity back.
Normally I'm not a huge fan of these kind of comics, but it has this novel charm about it that makes me want more. Total shipping haram thing going on too, that's fun. Subscribed.
