Hello, everyone! I'm faced with sort of a dilemma. I am revising most of my novels, some with minor updates and others with major changes. I have informed all of my subscribers of the upcoming revisions, so that's out of the way.
The problem? Where do I upload the revisions?
Here on Tapas, obviously, but -- and this will seem like a no-brainer -- do I create a brand new published novel (with "Revised Edition" in the title), or do I somehow edit the existing version?
I know it seems obvious to just upload the revised editions as brand new novels. I think what's making this hard for me is how long it took for the views on the existing versions. I have an okay amount of subscribers, but most of my readers aren't subscribers because they aren't members of this site. I don't want to have to build up my view count all over again because that view count is one of my marketing points. If I must, I must. If I can find a better way than totally scrapping the old version, I would prefer that.
This leads me to my second problem: What do I do with the old version? It doesn't look like Tapas allows for a novel to be unpublished without deleting it entirely. I don't want to do that. I don't want to lose comments or the dates of publishing because it's sentimental to me.
Ideas?
Thanks!
