Historically, this occurred in classic literature, adopted girls marrying a man who raised them... nowadays we call it grooming.
I am guilty of that one with a witch raising her younger betrothed who’d died because of her negligence over the centuries because he ages super slow due to the enchantment she’d used to bring him back from the dead.
Later, he sets on a quest to kill the lich who she got the enchantment from and who continually abuses her... but once he defeats the lich, they both insta-age way, way into their senior years and basically just sit on the threshold of their hut, hand in hand, and old man and an old woman.
It was a weird never finished story. Mostly because the plot is way too convoluted for the Internet & it’s a novella.
