Sci-fi book recs?

I feel like most of the popular works on Tapas are Romance Fantasy comics/novels, but I’ve been trying to read more sci-fi recently — or, rather, find more people who are interested in the genre since it doesn’t garner as much attention.

I haven’t really read anything in a while aside from some Tapas novels, and even that’s pretty limited. So, if anyone has any sci-fi book recommendations, whether it’s a work on this site or a published/purchasable book somewhere else (more so the latter), drop ‘em here!

I'm about to read a sci-fi book called Legacy of Heorot (Coincidence that the title sounds really similar to my comic's?!?! I THINK NOT!!! ((It is actually a coincidence))). My dad is a BIG sci-fi fan and he says it's one of his favorite books ever, so it must be pretty good. I can get back to you on it later at some point once I actually start reading it for myself, if you'd like?
