I'm still in ways of doing screentones with my webcomic on clip but there's about 3 different ways to approach it.
You can go to the materials window>monotones folder>tones where there is a selection.
You can create a tone layer which comes with a masking layer which you go to Layer>Create New Layer>Tone Layer
of course from then on you can choose whichever pattern, density, size and etc. You just color on the mask for tones to show or erase with eraser. Pretty straight forward
Another way which I use the most is you have your Layer Property Window(it's symbol is a checkmark) and you will click on what looks like a grid box of black and white which are tones. Set up about the same way of creating a tone layer EXCEPT there is no mask. You color with grey tones. Black and white will be solid but with greys you can make shadows and such with your tones. Pretty amazing to work with on one single layer then just a bunch, cuz that will be chaotic.
Hope this helps!
