Hey, my name is Leyelle.

I'm an author and poet from Maryland USA looking to work as a script writer for comic projects. I have more than three years of professional writing experience, am author of the novel "Damsel in the Red Dress," and was the 2023 winner of the Turnill Prize.

I'm open to a number of genres including (but not limited to)

  1. Comedy
  2. Drama
  3. Romance
  4. Slice of Life

I do NOT write horror, thriller, supernatural or erotica.

If you're looking for a writer please DM me for details

Didn't realize I hadn't linked any writing samples:

Writing experience doesn't really have to do nothing with script writing, it is a whole different thing. I would recommend giving some examples of scripts and not writing.

I've found that it actually has quite a lot to do with it as it lets people see what my writing looks like in general. It shows my ability to craft dialog, develop characters, write plot progression etc. and gives people and opportunity to judge them. They are different skill sets, but they do tie into each other.

As for this, it's a good idea, but while I've written scripts (comedic scripts for an audio drama and drama/romance scripts for a comic) the comedy series isn't free to access (owned by a company.) And it's messy to post scripts directly online (I'm also wary of having things stolen, so.) The drama/romance comic scripts are for a series that is currently unreleased, but I can share samples directly with people interested, though I don't post them out in the open. The internet is not a safe place for work you haven't copyrighted :sweat_01:

Hence why I'm pitching this way. I'm admittedly still fairly new (only 18) but I have acquired quite a bit of writing experience since I've been doing it professionally since I was 15.

I've written in several writing formats in that time (Essay, novel, short story, audio drama, and comic) and while they do require some adaptation, I've found that none of them are that different in essence. I was actually selected for the comic I'm currently writing by sharing my novel this way, but since the story isn't mine alone, I can't post the scripts here.
