I’m Shiro Kuma, the author of a currently running series on Tapas titled Registry House. The tone is subtle and atmospheric, with elements of mystery, slow-burn intrigue, and internal bureaucracy. If you enjoy worldbuilding that leans into files, rituals, and buried secrets, this may be a good creative fit.
I’m looking to commission visual assets that include:
• A vertical book cover (Tapas format)
• A thumbnail for series display
• A horizontal banner that complements the cover tone
The focal point of the artwork will be the story’s protagonist: Caldra Myre. She is an internal records custodian stationed in the sealed Western Wing of the Registry. Caldra is not a fighter or a flirt. She is a genius. Her brilliance is quiet and unnerving. I would love for the artwork to reflect that in posture, expression, or design tone. Intelligence should be felt more than declared.
Stylistically, I’m seeking something:
• Semi-realistic or stylized (not anime)
• With muted tones and a sense of document realism
• Inspired by file folders, stamps, worn paper, and old official photos
• Ideally incorporating design overlays that make the image feel part of a cold system
I have visual references ready and can share the current placeholder to give you a sense of direction. The mood falls somewhere between Control, Severance, and The Magnus Archives, with a narrative built on slow escalation.
I’m working within a modest indie budget, but I do not believe in asking for free work. If you are open to starting with a single piece (such as the cover) and expanding later, I’m absolutely happy to work in phases. Payment will be handled promptly and respectfully.
