Share before/after-pages of your comic

I did an extensive rough draft early on - you can see what changed and what didn't, this sequence didn't change that much in terms of the main beats but you can see that a lot else did change! For one thing, they all had three fingers instead of four in the first draft.

Wow, that is amazing! I actually wanted to draw my comic in color as well but being aware of how freaking long the coloring process takes (and I'm also not the best at coloring), I went for b/w. Since my comic is actually a manga, it luckily fitted anyway. And I somewhat found a compromise by coloring the first page (even though I can feel the extra work ^^. But if you need a week for one page.. then that translates to only 52 pages in a year (roundabout). So do you usually do short stories or one-shots? Life unfortunately makes it very difficult to make a colored series without a team.

I'm not helping myself by having such an involved rendering process, that's for sure, but I wouldn't want the result any other way.
And yeah it does translate to 52 pages/year, which is actually slightly above trad industry standard in my country (one of the most used formats in comic books here is 1 book = 48 pages and they come out every year usually), but my full books are closer to 75 pages, or 2 chapters.

And lol no I did the bad thing where I started with my long series idea, so I've got 10 years of work in front of me, but that's ok, I've started now and I can just pootle along and it'll be done by the time I'm 35, I feel like I can do that, I've been thinking about doing it since 2016, I'm not going to waste any more time "waiting to be good".

THE BEAUTIES - Following a script of course, I start sketching roughs, four pages to a single piece of paper, ball point pen. Then, I redraw it full size with the rough as a guide, no computer help yet. That drawing gets scanned so I can adjust sizes, do some clean up (I like the slightly rough quality of the drawing to stay), and add color and dialog bubbles.
