Prolly the most horryfying fact:

The fear of being a superspreader of a virus an having no control as you watch anyone within your proximity instantly turn into feral monsters. This lingers in the MCs mind

A dream the MC has in (1st person view) includes watching helplessly in horror as his loving mother becomes infected by him:

I mean the first chapter has a nightmare sequence, introducing one of the protagonists with one of his darkest fears. All of it subconscious based obviously but here we are:

The titular character Psychoborg had to become a cyborg minutes after he was born due to a plethora of complications and not even having fully formed limbs, but only survived thanks to his darkness element (it makes him exceptionally resilient) and he spent most of his childhood sick and constantly adapting.

It is no secret, but Optimus has not just one, but TWO rabid fangirls who cannot get over him and go to some pretty psychotic lengths to get him. He only has eyes for Elita-One though.
