@abigaillmartin Awe! Well congrats?? Idk if that’s the right wording But that’s exciting still! I think when anyone’s first dating it’s a little bit awkward but it’s still a source of joy. I’m happy for you! ^_^

@Leyelle In Texas I would also occasionally see the green parrots! There weren’t large numbers of them though. But the color is so pretty, lime is one of my favorite colors.

Also I guess the rejection letter can be a bit validating then?? It seems there must have been some disagreements among the judges and they wanted you to get a higher spot of recognition??

We don't see parrots that often here either. they're endemic to the island, but we see more garzas and cuervas. the garzas are my favorites, I actually wrote a poem about them which is being published this month (assuming things go smoothly on the magazine's side of things.)

I feel that too honestly that’s happened to me too, it’s like getting a apology letter instead of a rejection letter lol

!!! We also had those in Texas, we were pretty close to Mexico so I guess we got those same tropical birds. The cranes and herons are just pretty cool looking birds in general. As a kid I was really into Egyptology so whenever I would see the garzas at the lake I would FREAK lol they looked so similar to the hieroglyphics.

Managed to get a pic of my calico Raine with her paper ball lol currently playing fetch with her (she thinks she's a dog and gets so excited when I throw it for her my heart!)

it's graduation week where i work/study as a grad student and one of my graduating mentees gave me flowers as a thank you

im very proud of them and their gesture was so sweet, it made my week

When I woke up this morning I saw my roommate had set up a big balloon display and set up all my birthday gifts really nice... They also made me breakfast!

Rescued a kitten during a storm yesterday! Got her all cleaned up and fed too (was soaking wet and covered in twigs and leaves)! Let's just say my dog is obsessed with her and won't let any of the other animals near her lol I've decided to name her Storm (kinda cliche, but I thought it was a good gender neutral name until I know the sex for sure)
