Mora straightens her hair even though she hates the smell of heated hair
Christopher George tried to make comics when he was 9 and designed a character named detective Hikamore who was part cat, part dog, part bird. All the creatures in this story were weird animal combos.
Most people call Christopher "Christopher George" even though George is his surname

Eraserheads (a very popular Filipino band during the 1990s) songs were referenced in AngHell Dela Blackpill

And so have popular shonen anime... (Bleach, Naruto, DBZ)

Metallica and System of a Down are some of my other favorite bands. Referenced their songs too in my older comic.

Many people in French Cup are based on real people in my life. Some are a blend of people I know. Many of the events are based on real life events, too. The characters going to a Grease sing-along lead by drag queens is based on real life. The gay prom is based on a real annual event in my queer community. Then, the coffee shop itself, French Cup, is based on a real shop that we all meet in all the time. Except, the real one serves sandwiches and milkshakes instead of fresh pastries and cakes. Even the Nguyens' international grocery store is based on a real store in our neighborhood. A lot of it is my real life. I was even working in a high class hotel like the one that's trying to take over their neighborhood. In these ways, the story is incredibly authentic and feels real, because it pretty much is.

Disputing dying to the goat, Enoki is not sure ze really knows if ze likes the flavor as it tasted 'spicy' before dying to eating the meat. Knowing that was an allergic reaction, ze realizes that it probably wasn't the real taste of the dish.

This drives hir nuts.

Also Elves have to keep up a glamor lest they drive other races mad by accident.

Mora's name means "Star of the Sea" but it also translates to "blackberry" in Spanish, which is kind of ironic given her black complexion which fades into purple where her vitiligo spreads.
