Rectangle tool on a vector layer has been my method recently, and linearting on a vector layer in general. Being able to delete the line after it intersects with another one with a single click has been speeding things up for me a little bit ^^
This is the very first draft of one of the first frames of my comic "United We Stand". Eventually I added the dragon called "Peacekeeper" instead of the ball he's observing in the sketch, haha!
This is a sketch of another frame of the second page ^^ !
Guys your sketches look so clean sakfjlsaf h o w.
Oops, I just realised that I forgot to share mine!
Here's the sketch for my most recent page (The page background isn't white so that it doesn't hurt my eyes as much lmao):
Here's the finished thing:
I think I often struggle with capturing the looseness of my sketches, but I'm improving. My lineart used to be wayyyy more stiff.
Nah, I think your sketches actually are pretty clean! <3
The way that you sketch shows how comfortable you are with the comic process, I think!
Oh no, it's vice versa really I hate doing the first sketches (I think it would be more proper to call this stage layout, but...), and since it's so messy I do 1 or 2 more sketches after this one
Oh wow, that really is a lot of sketches!
Here's Page 19! Messier than it usually looks since I also wanted to show the thumbnail under it. I like to do a second pass over it to make sure I don't lose myself in perspective grids and clothes(this is especially bad for Mortimer, he requires the anatomy sketch under)
For the most recent page of my comic:
Everyone has such clean lines I’m shook. I always delete my sketches after I line for motivation and because I hate having a lot of layers
My sketches are pretty messy
Did you mean the rough sketch
I have very basic rough sketch because I use my storyboards as my base sketch then my final lineart is done right above that since it's faster and I like it looking kinda sketchy.
Close ups are a little more detailed.
very sketchy, no wonder nothings consistent XD
I just realized I don't actually save many of my strips in sketch form, and if I ever do it's just a small piece that I share on Instagram as a Work In Progress sort of thing, but I do have one full strip that I saved, I think... lemme see...
Here we go.
It ended up looking like this.
One honest person on this whole thread!
My rough phase is all over the place, especially because they're from a time when 30-40% of my cast had different designs ahah.I generally just blow up tiny thumbnails and do a few passes til it looks right.
yeah, uhh
...rough sketches are what they are, ya feel me?
