A lot of the comics/creators on Tapastic have art that disappoints me. I'm used to seeing pretty, pixiv level moe or game graphics level and this high standard carried over to here. I know that the art isn't necessarily bad here, but it's not my aesthetic, and many instances of small, anatomical mistakes annoy me.

I haven't watched anime in a while because I just roll my eyes at their conversations. The way they speak, how the sentences are, their mannerisms, It's just so … Japanese, I can't relate at all. This is why I prefer dubs over subs.

Axis Powers Hetalia, Black Butler, and One Piece kinda suck.... yet somehow they're super popular series.... Also Star Wars is over rated.

I don't watch modern anime for sort of a similar reason. I don't find the sentence too jarring because I do know a little Japanese. My issue is more with the dialogue just being stupid. I have a very low tolerance for most "serious" animes because of this. I also feel like characters talk for the sake of talking and you are left with characters who are just stating the obvious.

A lot of the anime from my younger days were also more upbeat...like look at old Digimon vs new Digimon. For the love of god, lighten up a little.

It's funny coz people would scream when I was younger "I hate dubbed! The translations are waaay off! It takes away from the context of the scene and totally misinterprets it", but I'm sitting watching the first few episodes of Shippuden on Crunchyroll and I'm cringing at the subtitled stuff. I felt the dubbed version streamlined a lot of the unnecessary dialogue and made it easier to follow.

Sub ≠ direct translation

Translating companies do sometimes change the dialogue so it flows better or because of misinterpretation. So subs can also be wrong. Example, the Blackjack OVA's sub is god awful and even has poor grammar.

I think the reason people are iffy about dubs is because 1) older companies were known for editing the anime to make it more kid/American friendly (which is not a dub issue and more of a localization issue) and 2) a lot of the older animes that are dubbed have awful voice acting.

I do prefer dubs, because it is easier to follow. However, I like the subbed version of Yokai Watch more due to Disney localizing the series. Like editing out the sex jokes make sense but why did they replace the Japanese map with a US map? OK, at least it is not as bad as the Hong Kong dub which is heavily censored and has awful voice acting.

• I understand hunting for food, defense, or keeping a species from overpopulating. But game hunting is awful, and people who like torturing, and killing another species for fun should be mentally evaluated.
• Anime/manga aren't styles, manga = comic in Japanese, anime = animation. The culture a piece of art comes from is not a style.
• Adoption should be brought up more often as a positive, normal, equally as good, secondary option to childbirth rather than a last resort.
• Other species of animals are better than humans.
• Traditional animation > CGI
• People should exercise "death of the author" more often.

I used to like Attack on titan but when I finished the anime and continued with the manga...I just...really didn't like it, it's not even about the art, the authors paceing of the plot is really really weird, the suspenseful moments aren't suspenseful and the boring part are reeeeeaaally boring and honestly I don't know how someone can make giant nakid people eating little people boring. I'm so glad that with the new season here my twitter feed is not flooded with attack on titan stuff because at this point I don't like it that much and probably wouldn't watch the new season anyway.

The majority on Tapas who complain all the time about not getting enough views, subs, or getting noticed by Tapas-senpai need to STFU and GTFO off this site. Stop complaining. Improve yourself. If the audience here doesn't seem to be attracted to your work, then try somewhere else. Stop making this place a fucking bitchfest over "unfairness" and how everyone deserves to be noticed.

The first comment I ever got on the sit was someone begging for subs for their friend's comic which had like 1K+. They were whining how they wanted more even tho at the time, I didn't even break 10 yet and this person took no effort to even look at my stuff. I did read the comic in question and well it was just full of inside "jokes" and didn't really make much sense to me.

I really dislike modern action films especially the ones that come out of Disney/Marvel. They are ugly to look at, they are way too long, they are really formulaic, freakin' uncanny valley, and they try to put in humor which just falls flat.

I'm disappointed so many people left Tap yesterday, I'm pretty sure I lost 8+ series looking at my reading list.
The issue is that just a few of them announced their leave (only 3 of which I plan to follow elsewhere) and I have no idea who the other abandoned series are.

And now frankly, I don't care to find out. If they couldn't even bother making a wall post about it telling their Tap readers to find them on another site, their series will likely slip from my mind and I won't ever remember them.

I feel this. I like Greek mythology but it's overused and there's so much really fascinating mythology elsewhere that people ignore because they don't want to do the research.

Politically, I'm slightly left leaning libertarian. Most of my views are conservative. Pro free speech, believe in small size of government, low taxes, pro gun, anti abortion, anti feminist (Just those who believe in female supremacy and just because you're born with a penis, you're inherently evil... If you honestly in your heart of hearts want equality, then I can respect that.)

Only leftist views I agree on are socialist healthcare, weed should not be illegal, and that gays should be allowed to get married.

But at the same time, if a Christian says homo sex is sin... or if a comedian makes fun of gays, they should be allowed their free speech and none of these "hate crime" crap unless physical violence is called for. Getting your views and lifestyle criticized is part of living in a free country. Deal with it.

Religiously, I'm minority of minority even among other Christian groups. Less than 1% of Christians fully agree with my views.

Because I don't believe in Trinity, and I believe that all sexual contact is marriage... it isn't just "fornication" where you can easily use vending machine Jesus to forgive you. You gotta HONOR your commitment... Also believe that Hell exists but God didn't create such a horrible place. Hell is Satan's kingdom. Lake of fire will destroy Hell cuz its God's spiritual energy. At the same time it will create the new Heaven and Earth. However, inhabitants of Hell and demons cannot exist in a high vibrational frequency world... and it will be their torment for eternity.

I've noticed that a lot of people have a disdain for olives, and I just don't get it. I can't get enough of them actually. I love eating them straight out of the jar. I even drink the juice whenever I finish eating them. Pickles and cucumbers can go to Hell though.
