Dunno if this is an unpopular opinion around here...buuuuuuttttt....
Just yesterday morning, I found a stupid tweet making a broad generalization about men and comics and how allegedly the same men who complain about how everyone is "too sensitive" these days are the same guys who will and I quote "will fly into an uncontrollable rage when women work in comics."
Uh...no.
I'm a straight white dude and it never bothered me to know that women also write and draw comics. In fact, some of them like drawing sexy women or sexy scenes involving women and I'm still not bothered by it. Only time I'm bothered is when they act all smug and superior when they tweet something really dumb and don't want to listen to opinions that aren't their own and that remains the same across genders lemme tell ya.
Predictably, the person who was making a strawman argument blocked me even though I was polite when I originally tweeted them. Hell, they did the same to a female creator who also had the opposite opinion which apparently was also the wrong opinion according to the bee hives these types of social media peeps wear on their heads 24/7.
As for other unpopular opinions I've got on my mind,
The Emoji Movie. Working at a movie theater part time, I can officially confirm that yes, it really is the equivalent of Fido spreading his furry butt cheeks while he drops a fresh biscuit on your neighbor's lawn, but out of all the scenes in this thrilling 86 minute blockbuster, I must say that the Just Dance! sequence felt like it had a wee bit of energy behind it compared to the rest of the flick which was as dull and hum drum as the trailers made it seem. Nobody laughed at said sequence of course or at any part of The Emoji Movie, but I will give a sliver of credit where its due.
