I get that concern, but if you consider necessary to change group, you could do the diplomatic approach.
First talk to them about your possible change and then talk to the teacher about it.
First, talk to them about your worries, for example if you have strong creative differences, you can tell them politely that you understand they are passionate about this project, and that you want to try a different approach but without interfering with their vision, so it would be better for all of you if you change group/go by yourself. Tell them there is not hard feelings and that you wish them the best.
If the concern is because you feel like you don`t participate, tell them the same about understanding they are passionate about the project, but you are interested in learning cinematography, and if you aren't allowed to participate, it would be better for all of you if you change group/go by yourself, so they don't feel forced to give you tasks and you get to practice and enjoy this. Tell them there is not hard feelings and that you wish them the best.
