I have always been interested In mental health and trauma, and just dark stories In general. So I wrote a story based around those themes to help those who are struggling and raise awareness. My story doesn’t exactly fit within a catagory on tapas, so I just keep switching from fantasy to horror, as my story gets very Dark, but also has lots of fantasy elements to it.

Me and my writer were intrigued by the story of how famous people tend to spiral out of control once they have obtained everything they ever wanted, so we came up with this story to explore the meaning of life and how it would feel for a powerful and extremely rich person to live a goalless directionless life.

I listened to the song "in the hall of the mountain king" by Edvard Grieg, and from it I somehow just saw/came up with the characters and the story in that moment. (of course the story and characters have changed up to now but the fundamentals of them came from that moment)

This story had been in my head for a long time, and it went through many changes, but the core of it was always about someone who could talk to the dead and was unable to deal with the grief of losing someone, stemming from my own grief, and writing it as they say, is a cathartic experience.

I actually came up with the idea for this limited series back in 2020. When the world was on lockdown, I had time to binge one particular series that had an interesting storyline throughout its final season. So it inspired me to create a storyline that has similar elements to the show.

I am always fascinated in Chinese CuIture, then I came up with a strong female lead in mind , then the story grows from there. From 1k to 10k to how it is now 100k+ words

I was always into gangster n' mafia films growing up thanks for my Grandad -- some being too young to even watch, but it kick started my deep admire for the amazing film writers and directors of the big classics. Jumping right in when Sopranos kicked off and Breaking Bad. I'd be here all day if I had to list off all my big inspirations!
Nothing really jumped started the idea of Talons however like the Saints row game series did! Saints row was a huge love of mine all throughout, all the way from the first in 2006 to the last in 2022.
Originally I wrote and illustrated a saints row fan comic that ran from 2011 to 2022, that is when I completely rebooted it to be its own original story! thus Talons was born.
I aim I to write this story as an Origin story of the main character that will transition into the future comic when that character has grown continuing his story!

Since I was a young boy, I've enjoyed watching the Avatar: The Last Airbender series. I dream of seeing a fighter who bended white fire and I always wanted to see more of the war aspect of Avatar. I love seeing stories from a villain POV, but I've also learned that things aren't so black and white when you consider cultural contexts. These are reasons, I wanted to start a fan Avatar series based around someone who had these traits.

Macai's Journey was born November 2020 on the Webnovel and Avatar Wiki formats. After growing and expanding to different mediums for around three years, I found Tapas and decided to share the tale with this community.

Well how I put it... Before I even started this comic, I had a Tumblr blog about Chili Pepper. She was an OC of MLP and used to be more impulsive. Philip and Emano were there too, but they appeared a few years later. Eventually I abandoned Tumblr and was tired of MLP. I turned my old characters into humans(or humanoids) and created a whole other setting based on real world.
The thing was that I liked concepts about alternate universes like The Matrix, The Dark Tower and Lovecraftian works. Also I wanted to explore the concept about consciousness being in different vessels or even without it. There are already so many influences to see in my comic that I could't exactly tell what it's based on.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone finds references to mythologies and even religions in my comic that I subconsciously added.

The war in Blue Eagle, Cricket Prince is based on the conflict between Han Dynasty China and the Xiongnu (Mongol) Confederation. I was inspired by an article I was reading about different forms of empire (I study archaeology), which discussed the Xiongnu as a 'shadow' empire, essentially growing in the shadow of the Han Dynasty by twisting their arms with threats of military conflict in order to extort tributes of gold, rice, and wine.
