Thanks, river! I think this is an excellent post! I’m looking for tips and tricks and programs used to make maps! This is for other creators: please also share how you guys build your map from scratch! :3

youtube videos and worldbuilding reddit is a good place to start . It's a total rabbit hole full of applicable informations, like how certain biome accompany each other, and in location do humans typically build cities, and even how geography affect politics and. economy.
Mine really just focuses on the characters journey, so. it's not the most detailed, but the environment will also serve as obstacles and contribute to battle strategies for character throughout the story too!

woah I should look into that site. I was trying to figure out how to get this map aesthetic. What are you planning to add to it?

Randomly generated maps are the best. Here is Aagara.

Hmmm, maybe not cause it's nt loading. ;')
You can peep it in this chapter, however, as it is not posted on tapas.

Very much so. The MCs, one comes from south Lousiumian, a farming community, whereas the other main character (kinda secondary MC) comes from Oria which is a more technical/mechanical state. Obviously Lousiumian is a HUGE country/state compared to others.

Little note: You can tell where they come from varying from accents. Alex has a very country accent whereas Niyah has a very New Yorker accent.

that;s super interesting. I actually was wondering that. I noticed that Lousiumian is a huge state with lots of (what I interpreted as) green land and Oria has more of what gray mountains.

Here is mine, not too detailed, I plan to fill it in more as the story progresses. The red areas are major cities.

Here's Gaia, also known as the "Puzzle Planetoid" (Because it's an artificial planetoid made with pieces of other planets), with also the main maps of the main 2 locations: The once Flying Artificial Island of "Elysium", and the Empire's Capital "Olympus".

When I first started my comic I didn't think much of doing a map but as I progressed writing the future "volumes" the world expanded a little so made this simple island map with sections to be revealed when they appear in the comic.
Helps greatly with geography.
