Shorter comic & manga series/graphic novels?

Okay !
What I have in mind right now :
- Chrno Crusade, 8 volumes, a manga about exorcist nuns in the twenties, and more specifically, about Rosette and Chrno, a demon linked to rosette since a tragic event in her past. Rosette fight demonic threats and will learn more about what happened in the past.
- if you want something really light hearted and magical, Card Captor Sakura (12 volumes) or Angelic Layer (6 volumes) from Clamp are good choices.
- I didn't read it, but some people recommended me xxHolic (19 volumes) also from Clamp.

... Now I remark taht everything I said are from the early 2000's. I'm old. The other series I follow aren't finished yet or are really long... :')

I don't know what kind of genre you prefer, but these are my favourite shoujos. Okay, Chobits isn't shoujo I think.

Robot Detective K is 2 volumes.

Godzilla: The Half Century War by James Stokoe is five issues. The Shadow Hero by Gene Luen Yang and Sonny Liew is a standalone graphic novel.

I recently read "All you need is kill".
It's only two books and it's way better than the movie!

This one is more of a graphic novel, "Brody's Ghost" by Mark Crilley. Not complete yet, but I'm pretty sure it ends at 6 volumes, and vol 6 comes out pretty soon.

I ended up getting a 2 in 1 version and I thought it was on going. So I was real surprised by the end of it haha.

I know Blame! isn't very long either. I think it's 10 volumes...
I like this one but the story gets are to follow as it goes.
I ended up just admiring the art and the cool actions scenes.
I'm still trying to find meaning in it all!

I recommend reading Iwaoka Hisae's work - I think the only one published in English is Saturn Apartments, which is 7 volumes long. I'm a big fan of another of her series - Hoshigahara Aomanjuu no Mori - but I think that one might only be out in Swedish, not English. I also recommend Aki Irie's Ran to haiiro no sekai - which is planned to end with volume 7. Again, I don't know if it's released in English, but it's worth looking up for the artwork alone, which is gorgeous.

If we're talking graphic novels instead of manga, I recommend I Kill Giants. The artwork might put you off at first (it's kind of sketch-y), but it's a really, really good story.

Oh, an interesting on going manga (that I consider as a short serie for now) is Bride stories (Otoyomegatari). It's set in the Turkish Central Asia in the 19th century, where you follow mainly Amir, Karluk and Mr Smith's lifes. As it's historical, a lot of change is going to happen, plus Amir and Karluk got their own problems.
So much work in there, I find it beautiful too
