I'm good at drawing people, but I'm absolutely atrocious at perspective and composition.
Thanks, post you're link here so I can see it when you start.
Thank you very much. I'll do my best
I think this is a good idea for when A sale appears without making a bunch of threads. Anyway Clip Studio Paint is up to 70% off yet again from Sept. 24 - 29th Link: http://www.clipstudio.net/en
The actual comic will be black and white. I might end up coloring it properly later, but I'd rather focus on the actual pages.
I appreciate the comments
Not sure, I'm still trying to figure it out. Something that goes with my inking style.
I'm atrocious at coloring...well anyway I'd like to get your opinion on this. [image] Here is the limited color version I went with http://tapastic.com/series/tobuildacastle
Use different shapes for the head that's about all I can think of to make characters interesting, most of my designs just come without thinking.
@ComicKitty & @vincentprendick Thank you. I'm abysmal at coloring so I usually stick to black and white, I'm just trying to get some inspiration. Here is one of my comics, the actual pages will be grayscale, I just need some inspiration on making the covers. http://tapastic.com/series/tobuildacastl…
Anyone know of any Monochrome/Limited Palette Comics, either on tapastic or somewhere else?
I decided to create a series that will include upcoming sketches and illustrations most people would never see. For example, wip, studies, practice drawings, random doodles, and things that I find fun. For anyone who wants to take a gander. http://tapastic.com/series/msketchbook
Nifty idea ya got there
But that's not theme though. It can be but it doesn't have to be a message or underlying reason. Like I said my theme for my story is unity or balance. Just as Scythe said, the story without theme was loosely connected scenarios, which is a story and awful but it's still a story. Not a textbook the…
I don't know if I follow this correctly, but I think that's not always the case. If you read my comments about you would see my story's theme is unity. Do I give a damn about unity? Yeah a little, but is it why I'm writing a story...NOPE. Not at all. I write because I want to. I have an idea and i…
How do you plan on communicating or will that come later?
I think that made me more confused. I've made series before but I've never made money and the didn't get that far. I'm working with a writer on a series but it isn't a webcomic. Would I still be considered a beginner or nah?
What counts as a beginner?
I plan on making my MC's different races, without that how can there really be unity or balance if I just focus on one group. I didn't write what I planned on doing because well that would spoil the story. Since you know so much more than me about writing got information on the rest of the fiction e…
Yes, that does help, thank you. I don't think I've ever made more than one draft when it came to comics but novels I also go back.
Okay, so basically when I create the idea for a story before I do anything else I should write the theme. My story is about a group of people who try to keep the peace between a race of alien immigrants and mankind. I thought that my theme would be unity or balance. Am I doing this wrong?
Even though my main focus is art(drawing for others) I'd still like to know some writing so I can create the little ideas in my head without looking like a fool.
Oh you can comment on those, just because I've had enough doesn't mean I won't listen. I'm just loosing interest in talking about theme that is all.
So in other words theme is just used to focus and is a result of the entire story? I don't know still seems unnecessary, because if I move the story in a logical and sensible manner based on the characters and plot, would that be theme? if so that seems unimportant. As an element, when you could jus…
Thème just seems like a reason why you are writing the book or some aspect of a message. Which I don't really have or care for. Even though a story may unconsciously have a theme, that is up to reader interpretation. That's what I want. I always hated English class's because when we were asked about…
After thinking about it I don't think theme is that important, especially when I don't hear people talking about themes when they read a story. If you asked me what the theme was for the book "And Then There Were None"(My favorite book) I wouldn't be able to tell you. Nor do I care that I don't. Tha…
Does everyone have a reason to create a story? I don't really have a strong drive to make a certain story. This is how I come up with a story idea 1. Find vague concept that's interesting. For example people living under water. 2. Give reason for living under water. Create conflict. 3. Think of res…
Thanks. I think I'm making writing more complicated than it should be.
Do stories have to make a point/theme? Is not having a theme/point making writing harder? Honestly, I don't pay attention to that when reading(that crap's for English class) I write because I want to make something that I think might me interesting to read. I'm honestly never thought of a theme when…
