Should I post my comic on more than one site?

Not trying to self promo I promise

I've had my comic released now for a little over a week. but not on Tapas, I made my own website because I'm not sure what Tapas quantifies as "Mature" (And I don't want to be breaking any rules or get in trouble with people ;w;)
But I know that logically posting on more than one site would get you more readers
I just am not sure if that's a good idea if I already have a website made and everything and I don't know what the rules are for mature comics
When I tried asking last time they told me "Tasteful but not offensive" ?? It's rated M it's going to be offensive to someone

if anyone knows the rules on what I'm allowed to post that would be awesome

Personally, I feel like it's good to branch out. Just because you've got a website doesn't mean it'll be easy for potential readers to find. You'll have the opportunity to get more readers by being on different sites. I have three novels posted here on Tapas and Wattpad, because I know some people prefer one of those sites more than the other.

It really depends on what your mature content is. Nobody can judge it based on how vague you're being. I'd say the biggest issue would be if you're just writing erotica with no plot. Explicit sexual acts tend to be a big no-no too in comics, from what I've seen.

Because of the nature of the story, being about CSA, and its effects on you mentally as an adult there's implied rape in the comic.
No rape scenes, no full-frontal nudity. Nothing like that.
instead of that, you have children getting eaten by a monster offscreen

Hi GumshoeComix! Congrats on starting your series! I post my comic in multiple places (tapas and webtoon) and it helps a lot with getting views. As AnimeKitty said, if your comic is only on your own personal site, no one can find it without a link from you, so these comic hosting sites are helpful.

With regards to your second question, here are the community guidelines from tapas, it includes a relatively detailed section about what constitutes a mature comic and what's prohibitied:

I appreciate your concern about propriety, from what you're describing that sounds like a valid story to share, but probably would need to be flagged mature. Since I don't know your story I'll leave that to your discretion. Good luck on your comic journey!

As long as you're not actually showing explicit CSA scenes, I think you'll be fine. In one of my stories, CSA is brought up as well, and how it's impacted a character as an adult. So I understand where you're coming from, worrying about the content. I would advise marking it mature and somewhere include a warning for CSA, so readers are aware of the content in the story, and can choose not to read if they're uncomfortable with it.

alright that's good to know, I have disclaimers in front of every chapter for readers who are uncomfortable with the topic

-especially when you're starting out, it's best to be everywhere potential readers can be.

-"tasteful but not offensive" probably just means like be mindful of the context of the scene. like you don't have to show every gory detail of an antagonist kicking a puppy (you can imply that scene), but like if you have an unsettling monster in your comic that's probably okay. (I would also add don't glorify things like hate speech or rape either)

-personally, I wouldn't worry about the M rating that much. I mean It's not like they're gonna take you to jail for breaking a guideline. The worst they'll probably do is ask you to tag it as mature, or remove it.
